SEPULVEDA PASS, LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- A fire erupted on a hillside along the 405 Freeway in the Sepulveda Pass area early Monday morning.
The fire broke out on a hill around 1:30 a.m. close to the southbound side of the 405 Freeway at Getty Center Drive near the Getty Center museum. It quickly burned 75 acres and jumped the freeway.
The California Highway Patrol said homes in the area were being threatened and all offramps on the southbound side from Sepulveda to Sunset Boulevard were shut down.
Mandatory evacuations were issued for the MountainGate and Mandeville Canyon communities as early as 2:40 a.m. The freeway remained opened for the moment to allow evacuees to leave the area.
Mount Saint Mary's University was also being evacuated, along with a senior living center at 11999 Chalon Road, officials said.

Soooo. CENTRAL CALIFORNIA, Quite literally, IS the hell the Central Californians voted for? and always wanted? The Irony is literally very HOT!
There was a fire in the same area a few years ago caused by some bums. Most likely the same cause.
How many of these fires are muslim caused?

Unless they clean up their environmental mess, they made with their green crap, we as tax payers should not be bailing them out. THEY CAN SPEND THEIR OWN TAX $$ ON EVER WILD FIRE.
Just cutting the underbrush is probably not enough.
The trouble is that they have now built over the green belts. There is no longer any way to stop a fire in high winds.

Clearing brush is illegal. So burn away it’s nature’s way to clear brush.....and homes.

Many, many moons ago I used to hike near there, but just a bit west of the area indicated by the outline; a bit further west from there we used to camp. Fond memories of that area.

I am getting tired of all these BRAKING NEWS:CA IS ON FIRE.
Last fall the fires tore at my heart. This year I realize that it’s just media hype to avoid our awesome President and our special forces.
