Tell you what, if PG&E is broke, I’ll buy it for a nickel, then send everyone home.

Buffet may (or may not) be a d-bag.
But he is not a dummy. If he does this deal the taxpayers and electricity users of California will get another shafting.
Would not surprise me if this deal is already in the works.

Warren Buffett may be a philanthropist, but he is not a masochist. PG&E only exists so it may be kicked around by the Democrats in the California state house and legislature.

California needs a complete reboot of its governing structure and political makeup. One-party states doe not work for very long in any venue.

PG&E was regulated out of business. Let California own the utility, it’s worthless now anyway. And good luck in the future.

What did they think would happen after forcing the utility company to pay $50 Billion in Damages from the fires?? PG7E should send Flyers in every monthly bill asking their customers to call the Sierra Club and Demand they start clearing the dead brush and ove4rgrowth from the Right of Ways of Utility lines.

PG&E was broke and broken back in 2000 and its far worse now. An investor would have to be a complete idiot to throw themselves in front of this train. Thank God I got my family out of there back then.

Both California and New York will conduct state takeovers of their utility companies, furthering socialism and ensuring lucrative jobs and positions for family/friends and unqualified special interest groups.

Will CA lift the restrictions that made it costly/impossible for PG&E to mitigate the fire risks?
If they don’t, then Buffet can’t do much better.
If they do, then PG&E can do much better.

Newsom has his priorities mixed up. The governor should ask Buffett to buy up all the guns in California first. Only after that’s done should PG&E be discussed.

Color me silly, but IMHO, in a state that’s subject to hot, dry winds, i’d make it an annual practice to clear out underbrush and cut trees back from powerlines-tree huggers be damned. Gee, what a difference that would make in the scope and size of these wildfires.

People like Warren Buffett, Bill Gates and Tim Cook didn’t become rich by writing checks.

They know a money loser when they see one. No one in their right mind would invest in CA.

Communist California governer Newsom

likely had a back room deal pre set up,

to transfer the wealth of PG&E,

to Communist Warren Buffet,

cheap labor Oligarch importing foreign hardcore socialists.

That is how socialists take stuff.

Its amazing that the Ca Public Utility Commission which regulates PG&E is not being hammered. They dictate maintenance including tree work.

Warren Buffet likes to buy companies that make him money, not buy constrained bankrupt companies just so he can take it up the “Hoo Hoo”.

If newsom and his dem pals just pooled their pocket change from bribes, they could buy the utility many times over.
