everyone else there has been laughing about how ridiculous it looked for ALL the weather reporters to be talking about fast winds while their TV stations had them standing in front of maps showing CALM (no winds at all) or only the usual mild breezes

its a big joke in Calif these days
and certainly the weather people need to tell their station editors to NOT show all the CALM and 3mph breezes on the big maps while the report was all about hurricane winds

———no personal offense to anyone, just that it makes a good weatherman look ridiculous and its not his/her fault!

Well-then everyone else is an idiot too. I gave you two wind reports from actual wind reporting stations that were of hurricane force gusts. There were dozens of other places that had gusts in the 55-65 mph range. I can’t help it that “everyone” isn’t smart enough to know that in these events the high winds occur in the hills and that people live in the valley and that’s where the weather stations that these TV stations always put on their reports come from. But-if you knew what you (and if everyone else did) knew that, well, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

But-bottom line-there were winds to hurricane force reported by actual weather sites AND in her maps-she actually SHOWED you where the strong winds would be-in the mountains and hills. I can’t help it that you can’t put two and two together. Sorry.
