I agree, I don't trust them either. We are being lulled by endless assurances that the Senate would never vote to convict. The Senate has been very passive and Graham won't convene a hearing and issue subpoenas to some of the so called witnesses testifying in Schiff’s star chamber. A sudden vote by the Senate would not give patriots time to organize, and any resistance would need to be massive and organized. Our representatives need to know that they will not be allowed to do this without calamitous consequences for themselves and the country.

The silence of the Repubs in the Senate is deafening. I believe that they may see their change to get rid of Trump and are going to take it since he has disrupted their corrupt “Apple Cart” as well as the Dems.

I believe that they think with a President Pence they can return to the “Old Ways” and the people will forget about this time in history come the next election.

There will be enough Repubs from (what they think are) solid Repub states that they will vote to impeach and assume they will win reelection, allowing other Repubs from swing stats to vote against impeachment. If/when they lose the Senate, they will be comfortable being the Minority again so long as they get a few scraps from the dems.

I really do believe they think this will blow over when Trump is kicked out and they will only suffer minor damage.

The Repubs retiring are doing so in order to keep their “campaign funds” and live high off the hog since they believe they know the Senate will vote to impeach, and they would lose their reelection ... why piss away a nice warchest of money on a losing battle.
