WASHINGTON (ABC7) — The Washington Capitals will honor the World Series Champions Washington Nationals at Capital One Arena on Sunday night.

The NHL says members of the Nationals, as well as the Commissioner's Trophy, will be in attendance and recognized on the ice during a pre-game ceremony.

The White House announced on Friday morning that the "Nationals will be coming to the South lawn on Monday."

Will the owner attend with them?

Will the media urge them not to go since they will “be on the wrong side of history” (Max Kellerman, ESPN, 2018 advising the Astros).

Attending the White House is an event and a reward, not a political endorsement and Trump has not made past ceremonies into political endorsements other than when the Patriots make their many appearances and key members openly support Trump.

Flashback to the 1920s when President Calvin Coolidge was introduced to the Chicago Bears:

Coolidge: “Oh, goody! I love animal acts.”

Considering all the charities and youth teams that depend on these sports teams , I hope they stay non political and support each other and the city.

Wonder if they’ll all attend? They’re probably getting threats by the left.

Maybe it’ll open their eyes to these lunatic haters.

I had no dog in the World Series, so other than the fact that the nats winning made crazy juan happy, I really don't care who won.

I am glad that that they will visit the White House, it shows class.

Good for the Nationals.

the nationals showed the sort of happy team spirit I haven’t seen since my son was in Little League, and also when our elementary school team won in LEGO League. It was very endearing.

It looks like Alex Ovechkin, the captain of the Washington Capitals Hockey Team. I heard on WMAL this morning the Washington Nationals honored the Capitals when they won the Stanley Cup. It appears the Caps are returning the honor to the Nationals.

It looks like Alex Ovechkin,

I wouldn't know him or any other hockey player from Adam. I only asked the question because he was missing front teeth.........LOL!
