A federal judge in Oregon blocked the Trump administration Saturday afternoon from enacting a policy that would require new immigrants to demonstrate they have health care or are able to afford it.
According to Wall Street Journal, the order, handed down by U.S. District Judge Michael Simon, prohibits the policy from taking effect for 28 days. The next hearing is set for Nov. 22.
The policy, which would have taken effect Monday, was introduced last month and primarily affects people attempting to immigrate to the U.S. to join family members.
The White House has described the policy as a healthcare system safeguard that would prevent immigrants from enrolling in medicaid or going to emergency rooms with no insurance, the Journal reports.
Critics of the policy say that it would bar poor immigrants from entering the country.
Similar to Trump's travel ban, the policy was created by executive order.

If the feds can require legal immigrants to stay OFF welfare, they can demand the immigrants stay off public health care as well.
This “judge” needs to be tarred and feathered. Since when does a judge get to decide the US taxpayer is responsible for everyone’s healthcare? Judges do not have this authority under the Constitution and he should be immediately be impeached for violating his oath of office.

Ignore the judge. They do not have the constitutional authority to make these rulings and they have no way to enforce them.

When my wife and I moved to Spain in 2016 one of the things we had to show in order to get residency was a paid up health insurance policy good for a year. No insurance, no entry and we would have had to leave after a max of 90 days like we were there as tourists.
Unless this judge was appointed in the first two years of his first term this is another Repuke problem

Simon was appointed to his first judicial position by Obama in 2010. His previous employment was as a partner in Perkins Coie, the DNC/GPS Fusion lawfirm.

I’m thinking that if the states that border the Pacific Ocean would fall into that ocean, sink and disappear, all would probably be good!
I bet with all trump judges that one day democrats will get payback. However, the articles will have a different voice to them. Hatred and unfairness comes to mind.
