It was one of the most heart-rending animal tragedy episodes ever shown on TV: hundreds of walruses shown plunging over a cliff to their deaths out of “desperation” caused by climate change.
Or so the story originally went when Sir David Attenborough first told it last year on his Netflix documentary Our Planet, causing much upset to impressionable viewers.
One problem: the story was absolute rubbish. It wasn’t diminishing sea ice reduced by “climate change” that caused those walruses to die. In reality, they were chased to their deaths by marauding polar bears — whose presence in the area the TV show’s producers initially denied.
Now, Attenborough has admitted to the cock-up — tacitly if not explicitly. On his new BBC documentary series Seven Worlds, One Planet, he uses the same footage but with a completely different explanation. Now, polar bears not “climate change” are blamed for walruses’ fate.
This is a vindication for the various internet sleuths who smelled a rat in Attenborough’s original story and called him out on his #FakeNews.

We need more climate change so that we can wipe out the polar bears so that we can save the walruses from climate change.

the lying alarmists claim walruses usually hauled out on ice, where they were safer from polar bears, but couldn’t find any so they had to climb these ‘dangerous cliffs’ because there was no room on the small beaches for them to bask

The polar bears were hungry because of all the swimming they had to do due to climate change.
My understanding of cock-up is screwed up, FUBAR or messed up. This goes beyond colossal screw up. This is a blatant lie. Am I wrong?
I don’t even believe it was polar bears. I think it was the filthy film makers themselves. They are liberal freaks with an agenda.

I’m reminded of a “documentary shown on TV about forty eight years ago “SAY GOODBY” about how animals throughout the world were being exterminated.
One scene shows a hunter using a helicopter to chase a polar bear and cubs, then landing, and the hunter shoots his rifle. Close ups of the momma polar bear as she dies, then close ups of the frightened and terrorized cubs. the show I saw was narrated by some guy who could barely talk. Now they use Rod McKuen’s voice.
Problem is the whole thing was faked. They were tagging bears, the rifle was actually a dart gun (you can see the dart leave the barrel) and none were killed.
But to an ignorant public it struck an anti-hunting nerve!
No different than NBC faking truck fires (they used flares) or AK-47s blowing up watermelons. The AK simply punched a hole, so they rigged another melon to explode.
You're kinda right. But it wasn't depression. They were tired of having to listen to Scoldilocks and her shrill, infantile tantrums.
