When did the Charlottesville rally get tagged with “Unite the Right?” There were some right wing folks there and one of them got the city permit to meet at the confederate statue in the park. The others gathered were just locals and university students who did not want the statue removed.
The mayor rescinded the permit, after they had gathered, and herded the ‘save the statue’ group were forced into the street where a violent antifa mob were waiting for them. It looks to me like a coordinated event between the mayor and antifa.
If anything it should have been called a “Save the Statue Rally.”
