Was a Red Cross volunteer at Walter Reed during Desert Storm in “the Snake Pit”, the amputation ward. (My respect for our military and their families is through the roof!! Still volunteer there. Only good part of living in the DC suburbs.)
There were two kind of generals. The ones who walked on the floor with a “look at me!” attitudes, The others just went straight to the patients and their families. Petraeus was part of group 2. Soldiers loved him.
Also worked with Hassan. He always stuck me as creepy. He never looked at me when he talked to me. He never seemed to really care about his patients who just lost a limb for us!! (I’m in the medical field.)
Why he still walks the earth is beyond me.
