Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam on Wednesday said he will reintroduce gun control measures in the upcoming legislative sessions now that Democrats have taken control of the state legislature.
"Getting rid of bump stocks, high volume magazines, red flag laws. These are common-sense pieces of legislation," he told CNN's John Berman on "New Day." "I will introduce those again in January. And I'm convinced, with the majority now in the House and the Senate, they'll become law and because of that, Virginia will be safer."
Democrats took control of the Virginia House and Senate on Tuesday for the first time in more than 20 years. Northam and Democrats will now have an advantage in the assembly to pursue gun control measures that Republicans have pushed against and blocked.

A caller to Rush Limbaugh yesterday said 30 Virginia Delegate seats went unchallenged by Republicans, but I can't find any confirmation of this.
With only a total of 100 delegates, giving up on 30 when you hold only a two seat advantage would be a loss even before the election.
But to the gungrabbers, this is a victory. God protect the Bill of Rights!

Ten years ago, we started the TEA party movement.
Many wanted to form a whole new party, divorced from the Republicans.
Others argued, “No, let’s win back OUR party, and make the Republicans support our goals.”
Well, the TEA party movement died, and here are the Republicans just chugging away, happy to be in second place and too timid to fight for the good of this country.
We need a new separate party. One with strong leadership, that controls the purse strings outlays to only bona fide fighting candidates.
I will not give a dime to the RNC.

I remember WAY BACK IN THE 1970’s when Batman, in a comic, lamented how Virginia’s total absence of gun laws made it easy for criminals to arm up.
50 years later and now Virginia will be a hotbed of gun control.
