What I find interesting about that whole angle of the story is that any laws and regulations related to a “quid pro quo” in government affairs would effectively be inapplicable to Donald Trump. The whole purpose of those laws is to prohibit a public official from using his office for self-enrichment and/or enrichment of his family and friends. And yet — whether you agree with him or not — Donald Trump is driven by a genuine sense of public duty and altruism here ... to the point where he may go down as the first President in U.S. history to leave office LESS wealthy than he was on the day he was inaugurated.

The mere existence of an NDA would have to be disclosed in sworn testimony, and it would turn the witness — as well as the whole proceeding — into a complete joke.

“I can’t answer that because I signed a non-disclosure agreement” is not a legitimate answer in any sworn testimony. If that was the case then every American would have file cabinets filled with NDAs that they’ve signed with every person they’ve ever met.

If you are a witness in a legal proceeding you can only cite constitutional protections to avoid answering questions — which is pretty much just either pleading the Fifth Amendment protection against self-incrimination, or citing lawyer-client privilege.

So... we have one of the main branches of our federal government that operates IN DIRECT CONTRADICTION to what the US CONSTITUTION states ?

Seems that ought to be ILLEGAL.

Expect the false news story about when Jordan was a coach to be the second most discussed topic of the political talk shows this weekend. They was to discredit him a much as possible before the hearings start. Also expect the Democrats to demand that he be removed from the committee prior to the hearings because of this “scandal”.

This impeachment attempt is the most stupid political stunt in American history.

It is going to do irreparable damage the Democrats and the media.

Basically, Democrats are setting up a public forum for exposing their own corruption that is so high profile that no one can ignore and no media outlet can bury or spike the story.

In fact, their media enablers and co conspirators and setting themselves up for a similar takedown that is going to destroy any credibility they have

It’s insane and the best explanation for why both would try such a dumb thing is pretty sobering - they have been manufacturing false narratives and gas lighting the American people for so long and getting away with it that it’s just become second nature.

The fact that they have been so successful at manipulation so many Americans has evolved a hubris on their part about their ability to successfully manipulate the masses combined with an utter and total contempt for those masses ( that would be us, by the way) because they are stupid enough to buy the bogus and blatant propaganda they are pushing.

Their motto is literally “ never underestimate the stupidity of the American People” and they literally laugh and sneer at us for buying the malicious and obviously bogus garbage they are pushing on the uninformed, misinformed and manipulated masses.

Think I’m kidding or off base- go watch the malicious mannerisms of Chris Cuomo when he is out to defend the indefensible or push the edge of the envelope on net how big a Big Lie can be. His “ you can’t legally read leaked secret Hillary email documents for yourself because it’s illegal for you to do since they are classified secret so you are going to have to let us tell you what’s in them” is a classic in this regard .

These shows are pure performance art and pretty much every talking head knows that everything they spouting is total BS to push their political agenda at any cost.

Every single one of them knows to metaphysical certainty that Bill Clinton is a rapist, Hillary is even worse, Barak Obama is ineligible for President and the BC is fake, most who are not true believers know global warming is a hoax and all know Big Mike was just a wannabe thug who tried a bit too hard to keep it real but they still incited riots with fake news reporting because they were paid obscene money to pit American against American and bitterly divide the country based on a false flag event .

Worse, every single one of them knows even more certainly that Donald Trump has done nothing wrong and pretty much everything right.

They want to take him down in a coup because he really is making progress on MAGA and they are invested both ideologically and financially ( Hunter Biden got payed literally billions to sell out America and so did many more) in America’s decline and sticking it to the American people

They hate us, they have contempt for us and they laugh at us

They can’t to my knowledge deny the request.

I would have thought, that in the senate trial portion of this sham, the senate can call whoever the heck they want to, and pencil neck won’t have a single, solitary thing to say about it. 😁

I’d like to find out who approved of, and who modified, the Whistle Blower complaint form to allow 2nd hand witnesses to file the complaint, AFTER Charlie Mella had already contacted the schiff cabal.

Pencil Neck’s response will be priceless. Kudos to Nunes and crew.

Agree. Sink his script, as thats all this is. Pure kabuki theater....

He’ll turn these down, and then have to do a real dance when he’s live and thrwarts any real questioning by Republicans.

I would like to know how much money has been spent putting this sham show together. How about calling Mitt Romney’s son to testify, and Mrs. Heinz/Kerry’s son too. Both were on the Burisma Energy/Gas Co. board.

Both are to be expected.
But Jordan will fight back. We will negotiate that the compromised Schiff be removed in return.

Schiff has the power to deny. From this article:

“The House approved formal rules for the impeachment inquiry process last week. While Republicans opposed the resolution and complained the rules were unfair, they still gave minority Republicans the ability to subpoena witnesses, with the concurrence of Democratic committee chairs. If the chair does not consent, the minority can appeal to the full committee.

This process still gives Democrats final say over witnesses.”

thanks for sharing. So Schiff can say no, then it goes to committee , who if made up of more Dems, it will have the same effect as more of them will be put on the record as not wanting any counter witnesses and Pelosis grand kabuki theater gets further exposed....

A trial with no witnesses , other than their chosen ones, and an MSM that will slant it all as “ OMG” do you realize they just saw a crime...

Or had them agree to something they would have been exonerated on but for the insane cost of lawyer fees to prove your innocence....

All the prosecutor looks for is a W. Doesn’t matter if it bankrupts someone....

The whole purpose of those laws is to prohibit a public official from using his office for self-enrichment and/or enrichment of his family and friends.

Even more interesting is that the QUID PRO QUO for self/family/friends enrichment has been IN USE for over 200 years , and while ILLEGAL on paper, it has rarely been enforced. Usually enforcement occurs when one dirty politician tries to beat out another.

There was no personal benefit for Trump to even consider in the QUID PRO QUO with UKR. There was a responsibility to remind the new UKR President of his OBLIGATION due to the US-UKR agreement.

The source of all this 'quid pro quo' nonsense is this:

The corrupt politicians/corporate CEO's/MSM/Deep State/Dept. of State/CIA/FBI/Organized Crime have been using the MILITARY MIGHT and WEALTH ABUNDANCE of the US to rape/pillage/plunder every foreign nation they can get their hands on.

In this process they have accused every other nation of doing that which the US was doing. Ukraine, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Nigeria,..... you name it, our RULING ELITE are there raping it (often, literally). They use QUID PRO QUO (the illegal kind) all the time. They do it for personal/family enrichment. They do it to stay wealthy enough to control anyone who would expose them.

To this end, they must put a stake in the heart of Donald Trump. He is the only one they can't control because they don't have anything they can blackmail him on.

Why are they playing along with this sham? - if it is to expose Pencil neck you would need a real media to do that. Once he refuses they should all walk out!

Oh, I agree with you .

Let me ask you this... What is the difference between a NDA and having Schiff decide who can testify and exactly what they can be asked, and what they can answer ?

All true, but “self-enrichment” can be interpreted to include “re-election.”

I think I’ve read that Schiff also has the ability to block questions. So it may be that he allows some of these witnesses, but denies the republicans the ability to question them as they wish.
