Problem:

Carlos Mesa, a vocal critic of Evo Morales’ presidency, announced his candidacy for Bolivia’s 2019 presidential elections as part of the Revolutionary Left Front (FRI) party on October 6, 2018 (with Gustavo Pedraza as his running mate).

They are turning communist

Per Wiki

The founding of FRI in April 1978 was a formalization of an already existing informal cooperation between different political groups. FRI was composed of the Communist Party of Bolivia (Marxist–Leninist) (PCB(ML)), Revolutionary Party of the Nationalist Left (PRIN), Revolutionary Party of the Workers of Bolivia (PRTB), POR-Combate, Vanguardia Comunista del POR (the latter two were Trotskyist groups) and an independent grouping led by Manuel Morales Dávila.[1][2][3][4] POR-Masas was blocked from joining FRI.[1] Óscar Zamora Medinaceli was the funding chairman of FRI,[5] and politically FRI was under the control of PCB(ML).[1] Lidia Gueiler Tejada was the vice president of FRI.[3] The declaration of principles of FRI read

FRI is the political instrument of the masses, which enables the accumulation of forces in order to defeat the dictatorship, impose democratic freedoms and achieve national liberation...[1]

The Elite Thieves taking care of one of their own. Asylum will be granted, right after an undisclosed amount of money is deposited into a Cayman’s bank account. He’ll even supply you with armed guards, if he’d like some, for a small fee.

Reading the list of the informal cooperating political groups I was reminded of the Spanish Civil War in the 1930’s. I don’t know how well these groups cooperate in Bolivia, but in Spain it was a bloodbath. Stalinists against Trotskyites, anarchists, anarchosindicalists, labor unions, and anyone working for freedom of Spain from Fascism. It also became a proving ground for Russian versus German military tactics and equipment. Some of our own idealists joined the struggle on the ground and in the air and some died. How effective was the FRI in achieving its objectives with this hodgepodge? “Imposing” democratic freedoms is kind of a logical impossibility. Was it effective in gaining political control?

*** The Elite Thieves taking care of one of their own. ***

What does Bolivia have that other more powerful players with a history of Regime Change Wars want?

Lithium. Probably why we don’t leave Afghanistan, too.

The answer to that question could be another question: Has Bernie Sanders acquired any new lakeside mansions lately?
