Michael Savage Warns Trump on Impeachment: Senate Republicans Cannot Be Trusted
Breitbart ^ | 11 Nov 2019 | JOSHUA CAPLAN

Posted on 11/11/2019 1:18:18 PM PST by Hojczyk

Not only is the Trump presidency at a critical juncture, but so is the United States. The House Democrats’ impeachment inquiry, led by House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA), is set to go public with testimonies from key witnesses from the administration this week. While House Republicans, and for the most part, their colleagues in the Senate, have stood united against efforts to impeach President Trump, Savage cautions the upper chamber’s GOP members could ultimately join their Democrat counterparts in voting to remove the president.

“They’ll go whichever way the wind blows,” Savage predicts, pointing to how Republican Senators have repeatedly broken their promises to voters, referencing their decades-old failure to secure the porous Southern border.

“They’re quislings and are liable to go against [Trump] if push comes to shove. I don’t trust them as far as I can throw them and an elephant is their symbol. They never liked him, they never wanted an outsider in the presidency. They wanted someone who was amongst their club,” he adds. “The club machine on both sides decides who will become president. Along came this outsider, this gruff, vulgar businessman, and they hate him and still do. I don’t trust many of them, if any of them.”

“No, I’m pessimistic,” Savage says bluntly. “I think Donald Trump, evening if he wins a second term, is the last gasp of America as we know it. I think we’re going to enter years and years, if not decades of darkness.”

Who has been kissing Mike Pence’s backside trying to become his VP nominee when Trump is removed from office?

True, BUT, the Senators will do what is best for the SENATORS!

I don’t think voting to convict a president of their own party (over NOTHING) is in their best interest.

I’d file it under “Every now and then, a stopped clock finds an acorn”. Weiner is such a wiener that half the time, he contradicts himself mid-sentence.

I listen to Savage occasionally for comic relief. Sort of the “conservative” version of Bill Maher, if you ask me.

While I pretty much agree, these days they all seem willing to sell out the nation on a moments notice, if they think they can get away with it.

Do you realize we have a window of opportunity fight now, and we still have judicial nominees from 2017 and plenty from 2018 waiting to be to be voted on in the Senate? They’ve already cleared their committee process.

Savage is so right on some things, many things perhaps.
But he gets some stuff wrong too....

yes, a few RINOs will vote against PDJT (Romney, Collins probably, Murkowski... the usual bad actors)

but.. it will be the end of their political careers.
and,
meanwhile the DNC will have committed absolute suicide ... and our attention will be focused on what new political party will blossom, replace them

The Republicans are with the President and hardly in favor of impeachment.

Sooooo, that means you trust them?

You are correct, if they could figure out a way to dump Trump without losing their seats, they would do it.

They’re already planning on that with amnesty for illegal aliens.
Flimsey Grahamnesty and Micro Rubio are still working on it.

There is nothing to gain for the Senate Republicans by voting to remove President Trump from office. They would destroy themselves. So their own self-interest points to voting to acquit.

RINOs will do whatever is in their own interest and boy they are itching to see Trump gone. As soon as they figure out how to take out Trump without taking down themselves Trump is a goner.....but AHs we are watching you, so don't even think about it.

I so hate the Republican party I want them to go the way of one of those tribes that tried to rebel against Ghengis Khan and found they had become a pillar of bones. Trump is the only thing keeping me from realizing my dream.

“That would be the official END of the Republican Party.”

That is extremely minor. More importantly, it would be the end of America.

-- Nancy doesn't have the guts to bring it to a vote in the House ... --

The speaker lacks that discretion - a resolution coupled with articles of impeachment is "privileged."

I feel that same way as Savage.

Likely many R senators have been leveraged by videos and stills.

To convict in the senate you need 2/3s but only of those present: "no person shall be convicted without the Concurrence of two-thirds of the Members present" (Article I, section 3)"

Do you see how the vote can be gamed? Senators like Cornyn, Sasse, Rubio, etc won't be present. They will be mysteriously absent from the proceedings.

Their absence will be effectively a vote to convict. This is how these backstabbers roll.

A question for all Freepers (and for all conservatives):

Do you think than at least some GOP senators are Deep State establishment types? If you answered “yes” to that question, then think about it. Savage might be right.

I don’t believe that the GOP Deep Staters would betray Trump today. It’s too risky for them politically. But if the House could come up more serious accusations, things would quickly change. The knives would come out.

it will be the end of their political careers.

But not of their lobbyist, corporate-board careers. Believe me, the traitors will be handsomely rewarded by the Wall Steet corporate globalists and bankers if they can get rid of Trump.
