There was a time when every self-respecting man with a pair in working order, who lived in an English speaking country, wore a red poppy in his lapel on November 11.
Also, his remarks were inflated to hold meanings that he might not have intended, when he berated “you people” who don’t show the respect (widespread in Canada as in the UK) on Remembrance Day of wearing a poppy. The p.c. media decided that “you people” must be a reference to immigrants but it could include native born “hosers” who choose not to show any respect for the wartime sacrifices.
Cherry will likely be back after a suitable time out in the sin bin.
