At this point, it is now almost impossible to know whose side someone is on and who is being infiltrated.

Some have indeed done violent things. I believe they got tired of hoping that peaceful protests (in the millions) will have an impact.
The cops, like the HK govt itself, are under the control of the Chinese Communist Party and by every account I’ve heard/read count “People’s Liberation Army” soldiers in their ranks. The HK police used to be considered “Asia’s Finest”, but never again will they see that title due to their actions.
I have little doubt that the protestors will get the Tienanmen Square treatment. They will all either end up dead or in prison camp. You can’t take on the PLA and win - at least not in HK.
There’s not much that can be done to save them outside of a govt collapse in Beijing. Like the movie says, “it’s Chinatown”.

ChiComs have used immolation as false flags before. They did it against FaLun Gong.
There are false flags and agents posing as protestors.
The protestors use fires and blocking streets defensively to block the police and to escape and not be caught.
The public overwhelmingly, according to polling surveys, support the violent protestors over police. 2% stated they side with police. Not a typo. 2%.
This is because the police started this when the demonstrations were peaceful. Millions of people, marching and singing hymns. Police began using tear gas and beating demonstrators.
The ChiComs initially sent gangsters to beat protestors and the police did not respond.
Regular people have experienced the police brutality directed not only at active participants.
Hong Kong wants autonomy, not ChiCom rule. They were promised autonomy by UK and ChiComs.
Police are now comprised of Chinese brought in from China. There are videos of them speaking perfect Mandariin. Some are probably Chinese cops and others gangsters.
