Roger Stone jury ends first day of deliberation without a verdict

The jury in Roger Stone's criminal trial ended its first day of deliberations Thursday without reaching a verdict on the longtime Trump associate's charges of obstruction, lying to Congress and witness tampering.

One of Stone's attorneys told reporters outside the courtroom at around 5 p.m. that the proceedings would resume Friday morning.

The jury had begun deliberating at around 10:30 a.m. They sent two notes to the judge in the afternoon asking about one of the counts of making false statements.

The charges, brought by the former special counsel Robert Mueller in January, allege that Stone lied to the House Intelligence Committee about his communications with the Trump campaign and his efforts to establish a backchannel with WikiLeaks as it was releasing damaging information about then-presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and the Democratic National Committee in 2016.

The charges are convoluted and laughable.

But they got an Obama-era official in the jury.

Nice and fair jury of peers...

As I always said about his trial “a jury of his peers” would look like several versions of Judge Smails (Ted Knight) or Leslie Nielsen as Sergeant Frank Drebin, Detective Sergeant Lieutenant Police Squad.

What he’ll get is a reunion of the Jeffersons and Sanford and Son cast members. And Obama volunteers.

The Judge is one of the worst Obama but kissing hacks in the entire Judiciary. A true believer soldier. And gee what a coincidental she got the case for McCabes wrongful termination suit.

All the defense needed to do was show the jury the video of the 24 FBI special ops agents in full assault gear with M4s locked and loaded as they stormed Stone’s home at 5 AM to arrest a 67 year old man in his boxer shorts. By some miracle this highly covert dawn raid was captured by multiple CNN cameras to document the risky takedown.

We hadn’t seen this kind of raid since El Chapo met his match in Guatemala. I guess ol’ Bob Mueller takes lying to Congress real serious like. I wonder if the average juror would enjoy being rousted by ol’ Bob like that?

Ya’ know ...This guy has played both ends of the stick...I am amazed he didn’t have an “insurance” policy one might say after playing with the filthiest people in America...Congress and the senate and most of the hired hands (agencies.) I hope this man gets off scott free...

I’m more cynical.

They were hoping he had a gun or put up some kind of resistance so they could kill him. The death penalty for his crimes against the state.
