Cuba has enormous racial issues nobody talks about. Their affirmative action predates that of US and much harder. If you are a white in the military or government you have to be two heads above and the most you get is to be a do-everything lieutenant to a black female figurehead boss.
Castro’s project to destroy South Africa and ‘liberation’ of Namibia in 1980s was a way to please black population portraying himself as he is a guardian of black rights worldwide.

Up to this day blacks’ major dream in Cuba is to marry off their kids to the white families to have lighter offspring and for the whites it is pretty much the badge of shame to get into it.
BTW, your estimates of 70% Cubans as white dates back to 1953 census. Today it is estimated 1% Asian, 11% Black, 37% white and 51% ‘mulato’ meaning mixed white and black parents.
