f you thought there weren’t any major elections until the Iowa caucuses on Feb. 3, guess again. On Saturday, Louisiana will choose between incumbent Democratic Gov. John Bel Edwards and Republican businessman Eddie Rispone for governor. And the race down in the Bayou looks increasingly close, so it’s an open question whether Edwards can once again overcome Louisiana’s deep red hue to win reelection. Here’s where things stand heading into Election Day.

I guess Edwards is still liked over there in the big cities..the Parish’s all went for Rispone but New Orleans went for Edwards and that is how he was able to win

Trump should be getting support, regardless. Especially if the state is 60% against impeachment.

Look how many votes the SOS got.

Something is fishy with the Gov #’s , lately.

Orleans Parish is 68% reporting, with Edwards with 90% of the vote. Not enough votes in the rest of the State to overcome this deficit. Color this election over, Edwards is re-elected.

The GOP lost this election for one simple reason only...they did not come out and vote as needed...period.

NOPE, the turnout is there if you look at the Secretary of State results. The GOP candidate has 100,000 more votes than Dem John Bel Edwards the incumbent governor. He's got a 20% margin of victory. The GOP-friendly votes were there just not voting for Rispone enough.

Well, I’d take a not so lively R, over a Dem, any day.

Especially after having Trump stump for the guy.

Guess LA sees it differently. :(

Orleans Parish has still only reported 70% of their vote. It is something like 90/10 for Edwards. Nothing can be done. Repubs didn’t work enough in this area. Just like 2018, our President has to do all the heavy lifting and he can’t do everything.

This should tell everyone they need to vote if for no other reason than the Dems certainly are.

You’re on a roll.

Your excitment over bad news for Trump just keeps on and on, thread after thread.

We get it.

How much is CNN/DNC paying you to post all of your Trump dread, here on FR? Just curious.

Your post is absolutely correct. It’s the “no-show” Republicans who are killing us.

KY had an unpopular incumbent. Edwards has an approval rating of greater than 50%. If he’s pro-life, hasn’t done anything to upset the voters and the potholes are getting filled and the bridges aren’t falling down, it’s no shock. Disappointing, but no shock.
