I was in Sydney 20 years ago and brush fires were raging. You could smell them throughout the city and there was a lot of visible smoke in the air outside the city. I get the feeling that this is “just how it is” down there at about this time of year.
I think anyone who tries to tie this to Global Warming is crazy.

I think anyone who tries to tie this to Global Warming is crazy. There is a relationship: warming dries out vegetation. But there's a much more important relationship: global warming reduces wind, both average wind and maximum wind. Wind is already reduced in California (and many other land locations).

I think anyone who tries to tie this to Global Warming is crazy. Exactly. First off 104 deg is nada... The 🌞 is 1 million miles closer in S Hemisphere summer... ~1.1% closer yields ALLOT more rays reaching earth surface and atmosphere... lived in Rio and Buenos Aires and summers are unbearable!🌡
