To: Brown Deer

I was in Sydney 20 years ago and brush fires were raging. You could smell them throughout the city and there was a lot of visible smoke in the air outside the city. I get the feeling that this is “just how it is” down there at about this time of year.

I think anyone who tries to tie this to Global Warming is crazy.

There is a relationship: warming dries out vegetation. But there's a much more important relationship: global warming reduces wind, both average wind and maximum wind. Wind is already reduced in California (and many other land locations).

”I think anyone who tries to tie this to Global Warming is crazy.” Exactly. First off 104 deg is nada... The 🌞 is 1 million miles closer in S Hemisphere summer... ~1.1% closer yields ALLOT more rays reaching earth surface and atmosphere... lived in Rio and Buenos Aires and summers are unbearable!🌡
