OK, can someone please explain to me this obsession with Trump’s tax returns?
What do they intend to prove anyway?
If there were any anomalies or violations of the tax codes, isn’t it the job of the IRS to flag this?
And if the IRS discovered anything wrong, isn’t it the business of the Trump organization to settle this with the IRS and nobody else’s?

President Trump, in their minds, is clearly guilty.
They just haven’t found the crime YET.
The Left just wants to see if there’s anything they can spin to embarrass the President.
Three things:
1) he's probably worth less than people think and his foes would love to make hay of that
2) the kooky left will pounce on any of his investments or interests demanding boycotts and everything else that goes with that
3) they'll scream 'conflict of interest' and torture out arcane reasoning why specific interests of his prevent him from considering every piece of legislation that ever comes before him
I suppose it’s just for fodder. With the tax returns they have a good 10-year supply of controversy feed, an enormous stack of free bingo cards, any one of which might (in their dreams) help them put DJT behind bars.
Trump tax records would be used as continued distraction by pretend authorities to declare law breaking.
If they don't keep Trump on defense they fear the uncovering of the MANY Obama/Hillary FELONIES!!!!
They just want to develop campaign memes from them. What theyll do is spin perfectly legal shelters Trump is taking advantage of into big bad orange man steamrolling the American tax payer.
To which it should be added-— there has to be an entire section of IRS devoted every year to Trump and Trump, Inc. tax filings, business and personal.
This is true even more so for large corporations, and other billionaires-—example: Pfizer, Inc NYC. Can one imagine the number of employees it takes to monitor the quarterly filings alone, along with healthcare related reports, medicare, medicaid, state subsidies of supplied medicines under federal laws... etc. Thousands of fedgov irs people, as a matter of fact.
Or, Exxon, or... WalMart (where IRS has a Bentonville HQ interface-— kid you not, and a subcontractor from a Cary, NC company, SAS!).
They just want to examine his deductions and make hay about business losses.
Opposition research for 2020. Nothing more.
“OK, can someone please explain to me this obsession with Trumps tax returns?”
It is an attempt to provide more angles of attack on Trump.
They are trying to turn the $130,000 he paid to Stormy Daniels into an illegal campaign contribution. etc.
My guess, absolutely not based on any special, private information I don’t have, is that it’s an effort to gain a road map to his organization and, especially, vendors, customers, lenders and all others with whom he and/or the Trump organization(s) interact so his enemies can go after those other persons and entities, try to destroy them and, thereby, to get them to cease doing business with Trump, his family and organization(s). It is, after all, exactly what they do to any lesser person they can identify who either supports Trump or positively interacts with him.
The conventional wisdom is it’s to get his tax returns to show how he’s used every legal device in the book to minimize his taxes and yell, “BAD GREEDY BILLIONAIRE.” I doubt that’s it because his finances and financial adventures have been pretty much an open book for the thirty or so years he’s been a NY celeb, meaning such disclosures would have about as much an impact as proving the average bear living in the Smoky Mountains pooped in the woods yesterday
Same as with Russia, collusion, Ukraine, etc. ad nauseaum. It's not about finding actual wrongdoing. It's about creating a false impression of wrongdoing, so that the talking heads in Big Media have something to yak about. It's about smearing Trump in particular and Republicans in general with a false appearance of wrongdoing, so that the people will vote for demonicRATs.
Trump has been audited up one side and down the other, and there’s nothing to “find.” This is just harassment. They obviously plan to come at him from every side, like the pack of wild dogs they are.
His tax returns are prepared by some of the best accountants in the world. He has said himself they are great returns.
What they disclose is his network of businesses and business affiliates.
If his enemies can get their hands on the names and companies that make up his business empire, they can harass his network to no end just as they did with his campaign managers and partners.
That’s what they are after.
They don’t intend to prove anything. They intend to take perfectly legal tax maneuvers and deductions and spin them into “impeachable “ offenses. And yes,you are correct, if there is anything wrong with Trump’s tax returns, it is between him, and the IRS. Since I am sure Obama’s weaponized IRS scrutinized Trump’s tax returns to detail already, it can be safely deducted that the democrats only want them for nefarious purposes...
Lawyers like to throw shit on the wall when they have nothing else. It distracts and wastes everyones time. So this it the Libs plan, mess up the country for everyone until they get back into power.
OK, can someone please explain to me this obsession with Trumps tax returns?
What do they intend to prove anyway?
If there were any anomalies or violations of the tax codes, isnt it the job of the IRS to flag this?
And if the IRS discovered anything wrong, isnt it the business of the Trump organization to settle this with the IRS and nobody elses?
I bet theyre looking for designer underwear he valued too high on his charitable tax deduction.
Other than they can hold a fishing expedition, nothing. The Dems simply want any info they can use to smear Trump either by charging him with improper business dealings, cheating on his taxes or possibly just being a bad business man (therefore an economic risk to have as president).
