An Orange County Sheriffs deputy was arrested early Saturday after he pulled a gun on a Lyft driver, the agency said.
The driver told Orlando police that after dropping off Deputy Troy Heyer at his home, he was writing a report to Lyft when Heyer came out and pointed a gun at him, saying what are you doing here, an arrest affidavit said. The driver said he was in fear for his life and went to the intersection of Narcoossee Road and Lake Nona Club Drive where he called police.
He took officers to Heyers home. Officers knocked on the door, and Heyers wife answered the door and said he was sleeping. Officers told her to wake her husband up, but she said he wouldnt wake up because of sleep apnea, the report said.
Heyer came out after a second attempt and agreed to speak with officers but soon said he was done talking, the affidavit said.
Youre either going to arrest me or Im going back in the house, Heyer said, according to the affidavit.

Unless the driver was still sitting there an hour later, I'm thinking the sheriff probably drunk - hence the need for a lyft.

Sounds like paranoia fueled by alcohol or meth.

Normally, there's no need for drivers to write reports. Just drive on to the next appointment. Most likely the driver was writing a report of some sort of incident that happened with the possibly drunk passenger.

Even police wives know NEVER TALK TO THE POLICE unless you absolutely have to.

In the deputys defense, maybe there was a dog in the Lyft car that needed to be shot.

...he wouldnt wake up because of sleep apnea,...So the guy wakes up and tells his wife he wasn't going to wake up because of sleep apnea. This is like Moe telling Curly to, "Wake up and go to sleep."

Article says the deputies said he smelled of alcohol. All he had to do was not go to the door and talk. Thats it and he skates.

Most of these drivers now have cameras to monitor their drunk, violent, cheating, scumbag customers. There are many you tube videos online showing the crap they're expected to endure.
Hopefully this driver is smart enough to make a copy before turning it over to the IA cops.

LOL. This the kind of “sleep apnea” you can order by the bottle at the local saloon?

Well, they had a complaint of aggravated assault against him. I don’t think they just let that drop because you won’t come to the door. They just would have had to get a warrant.

At which point you are now sober and still a cop.
And the Lyft guy gets his ass beat.

“Sleep apnea?” Probably would have needed a forklift to get him out of bed, too.
