America’s Inner-City Cartels: Will the nation surrender to the forces of lawlessness?
Wall Street Journal ^ | November 18, 2019 | Robert L. Woodson

...

Street gangs and other criminal rings have even abandoned an implicit moral code that prohibits targeting “civilians”—women, children and others not directly involved in their “beefs.” In more than 40 years of working with local anticrime groups and documenting their solutions to youth violence, I have never witnessed the depravity that is occurring today on the streets of black neighborhoods around America.

Nationwide, the tragic number of unsolved murders was documented in a 2018 study by the Washington Post that mapped nearly 55,000 homicides in 55 cities. The study identified inner-city areas “where murder is common but arrests are rare,” dubbing these crime-plagued communities “pockets of impunity.”

Take St. Louis, where 14 children and teens were shot dead in a three-month period from May through July. By August, only one arrest had been made in any of those cases—a bleak trend police attribute to locals’ unwillingness to report suspects. Even the brother of a victim declared that “around St. Louis we don’t snitch on people. We keep it in the streets.”

In Chicago, gang members recently kidnapped and shot a 9-year-old brother of a rival in an execution-style retaliatory strike. These thugs consider the deaths of innocent toddlers and children to be collateral damage of street warfare. Victims include a 2-year-old shot to death in her mother’s arms and a 7-year-old dressed as a bumblebee shot while trick-or-treating.

Children are perpetrators as well as victims of this violence. In Minneapolis, mobs of robbers have beaten victims unconscious and kicked them in the face even while they lay helpless. According to police reports, the attackers include girls as young as 13. In Washington, about a dozen attackers, who police believe to be boys and girls ages 14 and 15, attacked two men mercilessly outside a Hilton hotel

Seems our local governments are doing just that. They can’t do anything about gun violence so they go after legal law abiding citizens guns.

Left wing Democratic politicians who release criminals and refuse to prosecute crimes do not exist in a social or cultural vacuum. These are their constituents and the politicians derive their power from them. They have common values. They are truly empowered when obtuse suburban voters elect Democrats in their districts.

Due to political correctness, our hands are tied with a lot of this.

We aren’t allowed to talk about the black youth gangs, laying waste to big parts of major cities. We will be condemned as racist if we bring up such subjects.

We will be condemned as racist, and even be said to attack single mothers, if we say anything about the rampant fatherlessness in the black community, and the fact that the vast majority of these black youth gang members come from fatherless homes.

The media and liberals, will crucify anyone who says anything such as what I just wrote.

If we aren’t even allowed to talk about certain problems, what are the odds that such problems can be dealt with?

New York already has surrendered. The mayor refuses to protect his police or allow them to react

Chicago has gone to the dark side

Normal people like George Zimmerman learned what happens when you try to combat such nihilism. Now, good people think twice before responding sanely to anarchist violence.

Don’t know about the situations elsewhere in US aside from Chicago and NYC but in Jacksonville Fl it is out of control. I’ve been told by some of my black friends there are at least 3 gangs operating in Jax and they are ruthless, just like the article says. Drive bys to close up assassinations of women and kids seem almost weekly occurrances. The PD even has installed a noise system called “shot spotter” in “certain areas” to alert them to shots fired. They had to do that because the decent people are terrified to even report shootings due to reprisals. Short of an ARC light raid, I don’t know how this gets better as these groups are entrenched in their communities. Kind of like the old movie “Colors” with Robert Duval dealing with gang violence in East LA in the 80s. I don’t have the answers but I know I don’t want to live near any of these communities. The violence seems to be spilling over toward the beach high dollar communities which hopefully will cause strong anti crime enforcement, kind of you loot we shoot approach. We had an incident nearby me wherein a burglar was shot by homeowner. Local sheriff responding to press inquiry about shooting in defense of property responded “just about everyone in this county is armed, if you break into their home, expect to get shot”.

We don’t talk about them, but behind the scenes we are paying Planned Parenthood millions of dollars to deal with the problem preemptively — while harvesting lots of organs in the process. We don’t talk about THAT, either.

“Gun Violence”

Gun is an adjective that modifies the noun: Violence

The left doesn’t give a damn about the violence, and neither does the WSJ.
If they did, they’d address the cause of the violence and not the adjective modifier.

The CAUSE of the violence is cultural. It springs as any fool could have predicted, from a culture that glorifies criminality and vilifies personal responsibility, fatherhood, and morality.

If you don’t fix the culture, you don’t end the violence.

The problems will be dealt with; whether we or they, want to deal with them or not.

I’m not feeling particularly PC today. If we don’t deal with it as a civilized society, I predict that it will be dealt with eventually in a completely uncivil way.

The key is in the words: “black neighborhoods.” Of course the politicians (not the nation) have already surrendered to their addiction to Black votes and campaign contributions. The politicians know about the violence and use it to leverage getting money from the state and the fed. As long as the violence continues, the river of money keeps flowing.

At one time in the USA cities were actually great places to be, and safe. The gangs mostly fought each other for Alpha status and for territory. Today, most major cities have their “no go” zones. There is one here. As a kid, I used to visit my cousins with my parents in that area. I remember walking to the little grocery store on the corner to buy soda. I was about 8. Pure hell today.

Can this can ever change? Can we go from non-working, drug-and-alcohol addicted dysfunction to productive, employed useful members of society. It will be hard. City administrations were elected by people who want to keep the status quo. They pretend to govern. They blame the problems on Whitey, who guiltily shells out more money in taxes.

The system is perfect for those who want Whitey to pay for everything. And if Blacks shake off the $hit that politicians have buried them in, they will become productive members of society and not vote democrat. (That explains why they hate Trump so much.)

What about all the “gender confused” people, or those who identify with any of the 50+ gender identities out there nowadays? In this politically correct world, it is considered offensive to talk of boys and girls exclusively, as if all are one or the other.

No one actually believes that Democrat aldermen, or city commissioners, or whatever the local title, can't be bought, so that the local gangs can help him/her/it get out the Democrat vote? There is not THAT much of a D/R disparity.

That's the Chicago way. The Insane Unknowns, the Latin Kings, MS-13 actually pay the aldermen to get out the vote, The alderman provides police blindness. They are the ones collecting names in cemeteries, and standing guard as "poll watchers". The locals know. Democrats are not Americans.

‘Even the brother of a victim declared that “around St. Louis we don’t snitch on people. We keep it in the streets.”’

Then don’t complain when police don’t bother to try very hard to investigate crime in these communities. You wanted to live in a lawless zone, you got it.
