I happen to know that at least in the 1963 the secret service did have someone who would taste test food for the president. my source is my substitute teacher when I was in high school. he was on the protection detail for john Kennedys children when he was a member of the secret service. I asked him about this when I was in high school and he was substituting for my history class. he told me there was someone who tasted the food for the president. he was very tight lipped about most things he did when he was on the white house protective detail but did answer a few Questions like the one I asked.
Think about it. Most food poisons wouldn’t show up for 24 hrs. or more.
This is just histrionic.
