The proposals by Democratic presidential hopefuls to tax the wealth of billionaires have received a lot of attention.
But it is their plans to hike payroll taxes that would have the biggest impact on voters.
Elizabeth Warren and other leading Democrats have said that they would impose a stiff payroll tax hike on higher-income families. In Warren’s proposal, she would impose a 14.8 percent payroll tax on workers with incomes above $250,000.

Not a chance. Too many states are ultra-blue. The DEMs could (and may!) run a socialist, and they still would gather at least 200 EVs. Nothing like 1972 or 1984.
Higher-income families are really the operators of business operations. They only make wealth....if their business is profitable and people want their products or services. Once you go and screw them....with their profit line shrinking...they either dump the business, or they pass the cost-factor onto the consumer.
Either way, the consumer, or employees...lose.
The younger generation would welcome more unemployment, higher taxes, higher debt, more illegal immigrants, more welfare and less prosperity.
Got a job? You’re “the wealthy.”
Like FDR did to destroy the economy in the 1930’s.
The Democrats are going to get your money and property. They will use the power of Government and deadly force to take your money. They will tax and regulate your property to the point you cannot afford it.

All these morons that scream "Tax the Rich" would find out that, for tax purposes, they are among the "RICH".
The media will present this as a bonus. They turned Trump‘s tax cut into a tax hike.
Years ago, in an ABC TV News interview, with I believe Charlie Gibson, candidate Barack Obama was asked the same about taxing businesses, and how those tax increases just raise prices on everything. He replied that he understood, but would tax them anyway, as it was a matter of “fairness”.
That’s all anyone has to understand about democrat tax policies.
There are too many stupid and/or greedy people out there who believe in a free lunch. No matter how many times redistribution of wealth only serves to make everyone equally poor, people never seem to learn
