Hickenlooper’s legal fees for ethics investigation paid for with $43,000 in taxpayer dollars

An attorney representing former Gov. John Hickenlooper in a case being investigated by the Colorado state ethics committee has been paid $43,390 in taxpayer dollars for his work

...

Denver lawyer Mark Grueskin was made a special assistant attorney general and appointed in October 2018 to handle the ethics complaint against Hickenlooper.

Hickenlooper, now running for U.S. Senate to try to unseat Republican Sen. Cory Gardner, was governor until January of this year, but the ethics case is ongoing.

...

Grueskin is being paid $525 an hour – totaling $43,39 for his work on the case so far. A paralegal assisting Grueskin is also being paid $150 an hour,

...

Grueskin’s name was redacted from a searchable online government database, despite the database showing his payments, which were funded by the 2003 Jobs and Growth Tax Relief Reconciliation Act

...

“Hickenlooper is once again proving how out-of-touch he is with everyday Coloradans who think it’s important for politicians to be held accountable for their actions,” Colorado Rising PAC Communications Director Lindsey Singer said. “It is not the job of the media or taxpayers to cover for you, Mr. Hickenlooper.”

Hickenlooper, who also briefly ran for the Democratic nomination for president before joining the Colorado Senate race, took heat last week for telling a reporter that the media “should be protecting me on stuff like this,” in response to questions about the ethics investigation.

This is not surprising and probably only the tip of the corruption iceberg.

I’m afraid it won’t matter because Gardner toasted his own is toast.

Thanks for the ping, George.

President Trump just needs a New Regulation:

The IRS shall treat Any and All funds paid on another persons behalf as Taxable Income

Agree.

The full story won't come out before next year's election, though.

You must realize that the ethics complaint was a wedge intended to pry open a window into Hickenlooper's pre-campaign activities he won't talk about.

(Such as an all-expenses-paid trip to Turin, Italy last June to meet with . . oh, we can't talk about that.)

I hadn’t heard about that. What was it about?

It’s old news now that Hickenlooper has dropped out for lack of support, but earlier it appeared as if he might be the anointed one.

He was invited to the Bilderberg meeting last June.

Here is a recent article at Townhall with a clip from the Denver Post which mentions the B word without elaborating. (I despise paywalls, especially at news sites where Trump is the devil incarnate.)

Thanks for the info.

You don’t mean that he’s dropped out of the Colorado senate race, do you?

We can wish, but he’s still in as of today.

No telling what might happpen.by next spring or.whenever the Dems have their primary. He could lose to a radical feminist atheist vegan who bottles her own beer..

One thing we can count on is none of the others running for that senate seat will bring up Hick’s trip to meet with the elite, or even question who paid for it.

They’d all like to get that invitation themselves some day.
