One reason states parole elderly prisoners is so it won’t be burdened with their increasing medical costs. If it’s considered they aren’t a further danger to anyone, they can be booted to save money.

He’s 80 and been in prison over 50 years. No doubt his brain is jello. I doubt he’ll be enjoying life anywhere he might be.

He’s 79, that’s exactly what they are doing. He will be on medicare in a nursing home on the fed’s dime instead of the state’s.

Snort. The prison system will save money. The taxpayers won't. The perp will be a Medicare/Medicaid dual eligible and taxpayers will still be on the hook for supporting the SOB. It would have been more cost effective to execute him.
