Saw it with 3 other old Vets. An AF, a Navy and two Dogfaces. We all highly enjoyed it. The segment where the code breaking spooks deduced that what the Japs referred to as “AF” was Midway....So when they attacked Midway, we were waiting for them. That was handled very much the same in the previous Midway movie. So it must be authentic.
Yeah, and the attack on Pearl Harbor was also handled very much the same in several motion pictures I have seen, so that must be authentic.
There are numerous excellent books on the history of WWII which I suggest that you read. It beats Hollywood motion pictures for determining what was "authentic."
