Defense Secretary Mark Esper fired Navy Secretary Richard Spencer Sunday over his handling of the case of a Navy SEAL who posed for a photo next to an Islamic State terrorist's corpse in Iraq, and the SEAL will be able to keep his Trident pin, a Pentagon spokesman said Sunday.

I’m not sure firing Spencer was Trump’s decision. Esper fired him, but I’m sure he did it with the approval of the CIC.
Chain of Command...
With any luck, he’s getting his transfer orders to a quonset hut in the Aleutian Islands.
The purpose of the military is to kill people and break things, not be an instrument of virtue-signalling for the military Brahmin class.
>>Hopefully, [Green’s] packing his duffel bag right now...<<
.
For us salts, “seabag.”
You are correct...(I’m embarrassed cause I was a “swabby” also...)
FTA:
“Esper [the Secretary of Defense] ordered that Gallagher be allowed to keep his Trident pin, noting that it would be nearly impossible for him to get a fair hearing from the military in light of recent events, a senior official said.”
OMG! When has the Sec. Def., clearly with POTUS’ approval, ever said such a thing before about the Navy’s senior ranks, especially its JAG corps?? Looks like a much needed purge, there be a-comin’.
These bureaucrats are outing themselves .... I say thank you.
Now run along, well be watching you.
I knew that would be misread as soon as I posted it, but there’s no way to modify posts around here. I meant the ADMIRALS who were selected under Obama (and who now constitute the upper echelon of the military), not the departed SecNav ...
Here's a real C-bag...
(The one on the right in this picture.)
No! No! No, a thousand times no. The Pentagon did not decide the Navy Seal could keep his Trident pin. President Trump gave the Pentagon an order that he would keep his pin. The Pentagon seemed to have some difficulty understanding the order, but they finally got it. Gomer Pyle would have gotten it immediately.
Pentagon says?!?!?
Commander in Chief says.
The article said “A Navy source told Fox News that they cant see a world where they go forward with the other 3 SEALS peer review board hearings, following the Gallagher fiasco. We need to move on.
“The Navy has revoked 154 Trident pins since 2011.”
Absolutely. I can’t tell you how many officers allow their personal politics to cloud their judgement.
