The front of Sunday's Outlook section in The Washington Post is a complete spit take. There in bold type is the blatantly false headline "Barack Obama, conservative."
David Swerdlick is an employee of the Post's Outlook section, so this isn't some freakish freelancer. At first glance, this article seems like an obvious ploy to explain away just how radical the current crop of Democratic presidential candidates are by comparison. Here's the thesis:
“This is still a country that is less revolutionary than it is interested in improvement.”
That remark helps explain why so many of the candidates’ proposals seem so far to the left of Obama. The former president was skeptical of sweeping change, bullish on markets, sanguine about the use of military force, high on individual responsibility and faithful to a set of old-school personal values. Compare that with proposals from his would-be successors: Medicare-for-all, the Green New Deal, free college, a wealth tax, universal basic income.

LOL. I went on a White House tour around Christmas early in the Obama administration. The white house Christmas tree had a Mao Tse Tung ornament hanging on it. Saw it with my own eyes.
(Of course, Mao didn’t hang himself.)

So Mr. “We are five days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America” was a conservative. Of course he was. All conservatives want to “fundamentally transform the United States of America.” It’s a little known fact.
More like the ‘Manchurian Candidate’.
Of course given ALL the facts and the way he had acted prior his demise, McCain was probably the ‘living’ MC.
Just to prove the Libs are products of Hollyweird, there was an old Andy Griffith movie ‘A Face in the Crowd’ who I definitely figured that was Clinton.
OTOH, Hillary would be fitting as the Angela Lansbury character in MC....
Shifting the needle further to the left, as did McCain.
Advertisers will pay BIG money for an audience stupid enough to consider Obama a conservative...
