Democrats Want to Save the Planet, Not Our Babies

Students stormed the football field at halftime at the Harvard-Yale game and held things up for about an hour, demanding that the schools divest holdings in fossil fuel investments.

The disruptors were cheered on by presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren while actress Alyssa Milano decried wealthy universities "invested in the destruction of the planet."

When you have important work to do like saving the planet, you certainly have a right -- it's assumed by these activists -- to violate the time and property of others as you wish.

But these same environmental activists, who feel empowered to interrupt our personal and commercial lives in the name of their planet-saving crusade, conclude just the opposite when it comes to unborn children.

In their view, it is not our right to use the cheapest and most readily available energy and electricity, because they have decided this endangers the planet. But at the same time, they insist it is the right of any woman to destroy the unborn child developing inside of her.

This point of view characterizes the current field of Democratic candidates running for president.

Billionaire and former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg has entered the fray, supposedly to provide a more moderate alternative for Democrats.

But Bloomberg is also a climate change activist who believes destruction of unborn children is just fine. Save the planet while we destroy our children. I guess clear thinking is not a prerequisite for becoming a billionaire.

Bloomberg boasts of having reduced the "carbon footprint" of New York City while he was mayor from 2002 to 2013.

But New York City also has a well-deserved reputation as the nation's abortion capital.

The abortion rate in 2016 in New York City -- the number of abortions per 1,000 women ages 15 to 44 -- was 31.1. In the U.S. in 2014, per the Guttmacher Institute, it was 14.6.

How about black women?

Reported Jason Riley of the Wall Street Journal in 2018: "In New York City, thousands more black babies are aborted than born alive each year, and the abortion rate among black mothers is more than three times higher than it is for white mothers. According to a city Health Department report released in May, between 2012 and 2016 black mothers terminated 136,426 pregnancies and gave birth to 118,127 babies. By contrast, births far surpassed abortions among whites, Asians and Hispanics."

Former President Barack Obama stood out in the Democratic "save our planet, not our babies" school.

He was the first sitting American president to address the national meeting of Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest abortion provider.

And Obama led us into the Paris climate agreement, concluded at the 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference. The U.S., per this agreement, committed to 26% to 28% carbon emissions reduction below 2005 levels by 2025.

The Heritage Foundation estimated that the agreement would have cost an American family of four 13% to 20% more in annual electricity costs.

In 2017, President Donald Trump pulled the U.S. out of this agreement, saying he was elected to represent "Pittsburgh, not Paris."

One characteristic that distinguishes the "save our babies" crowd from the "save our planet" crowd is humility.

When most of us hear the weather forecast for one week out, we take it with a grain of salt. Who would make huge investments based on accuracy of the weather forecast?

Yet the "save our planet" crowd takes predictions about what will be in 25, 50 or 100 years with grave seriousness and wants to impose huge costs today on working families based on these speculations.

A child in the womb is not speculation. This is life. This is our future. Respecting the sanctity of this life, and the sacred activity and responsibility in producing it, is really the behavior and attitude that will save our planet and our world.

Climate change is supposed to kill millions or billions of people, making it nature’s solution to overpopulation.

The left is not very serious about “saving the planet,” either. Their schemes to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere pose quite literally an existential threat to continued life on earth. Ironically, once biomass is removed by eliminating atmospheric CO2, the planet will almost certainly heat up. That is because plants soak up a huge amount of sun energy to use to convert CO2 into biomolecules. Without plants to absorb that energy, it is absorbed into rocks and soil, where it is converted to heat. As a result, the planet heats.

Reminds me of a bumper stick I saw on a car awhile back:

"Forget about saving the planet. Try using your turn signal for a change."

Says it all about liberals. 😂 🤪 😂 🤪

James 4:4, NIV: “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

If you’ve never seen George Carlin’s take on saving the planet, you should watch.

The lefty lunatics are murdering babies everywhere. They don’t want to “save the planet”. There is nothing wrong with the planet. These malignancies-on-Freedom-and-on-civil-society want to control the planet and you...unless they have the opportunity to murder you and your family first. These contemptuous reprobates deserve constant ridicule...and worse.

While I'm sure I've seen this piece before, it would do us all some good to go back and watch and listen to some of Carlin's unique insights and perspectives on our world and human behavior.

As liberal as some people thought Carlin was, he was fair and balanced in his criticisms of our culture and society, Left and Right. Like this monologue on the environment and saving the planet. He pulled no punches in criticizing the environmental wackos and their incessant need to "meddle" in our world.

He was always enlightening and entertaining. He was one of the best comedians, or should I say social commentators, of his day. Dare I say, a modern Mark Twain. Thanks for sharing.

They could save the planet faster by not exhaling CO2.

between 2012 and 2016 black mothers terminated 136,426 pregnancies and gave birth to 118,127 babies.

I remember talking to African-American military officers in the 90's about this. Even in the 90's the black population was killing more babies than were being born. But it never seemed to dawn on them that a population group, which continues to destroy it's future in that manner, will have no future.

The secondary correlation which "no one" talks about, is who is doing the killing. Black girls who are worried about their future, college, further education or marriage, those that have the ability to look a little bit ahead, are getting abortions. For the most part, the welfare daughters are having their kids, so they can be on welfare just like mom.

So the question is, what is the IQ difference between the first group and the second? Are African-American communities killing their best and brightest hopes for the future?

If environmental activists care so much why don’t they just hold their own James Town event?.

Totally understandable and justifiable.

Without proper references, a “baby” is just an unwanted consequence of sex, and everyone knows that sex is necessary and ultimately the defining aspect of human life.

And the planet is where we live, and have sex, which makes it pretty freaking important(!), right?

So, somebody had damn well better be making those people take care of the planet for us, because otherwise their carbon will kill us all, you know, really soon!

And whose fault will that be? Trump’s!!!

It’s all Trump’s fault! And his stupid voters, too!!
