Pity the poor progressive Democrat trying to choose a candidate in this primary season.
Marianne Williamson speaks their language, but they know in their hearts that she'll never be president. Andrew Yang wants a massive new welfare program, and that's always good, but Yang can't even get respect from MSNBC, much less a majority of delegates. Kamala Harris is mean to criminals and other living things, so she's out. Tulsi Gabbard is mean to Hillary Clinton (PBUH), so she's out, too. There are a bunch of white guys from red states that progressives have barely even heard of, and clearly aren't to be trusted. There are three really rich white guys -- well, one of them is black, but he worked for a hedge fund -- or four if you include Joe Biden and his newfound millions. But progressives haven't really been comfortable with a white guy since Clinton, who was born a poor black child or something.
So if you're a concerned progressive (is there any other kind?) you're pretty much left with Pete Buttigieg, Bernie Sanders, or Elizabeth Warren. You fear that Mayor Pete can't win the nomination, because of his very real problem with black voters. So now you're down to Sanders and Warren.
Warren hits all the right buttons: She's female, she may or may not be some kind of minority, she wants to tax the bejeebus out of rich people, and she supports Medicare for All. And at mere 70 years old, she's in the middle age bracket of your party's potential nominees. What's not to love?
Well... there's that secret fear, that nagging itch, that in her tone and composure Pocahontas might be a little too much like Hillary Clinton to beat Trump. And you can't have that -- not again!
That leaves Bernie.

Looking a little deeper at the RCP figures, Sanders and Warren were in a similar tie for most of the summer. They’re right back where they started, with one vital difference. Harris’s support has damn near evaporated.
Bernie versus Biden... could it really be that simple already, out of a field of 20-plus contenders?
But then, Bloomberg with all his money could potentially make it a 3-man race.

I look forward to more reporting that details how Warren falls short. Get that info out there. She is unsuitable, untrustworthy, not likable. Explain all of that to the voters about a hundred times. Make plenty of room for Bernie to sail on to the nomination.
Then watch Bernie have a second trip to the emergency room.
Oops! They would have to rehabilitate Biden, or rehabilitate Warren, or bring in Hillary.
I think they end up with ole Joe, he’ll go down in flames like Dole and McCain.
The democrats are driving the polls in Biden’s favor so that they can make their charge against Trump stick — that he used a foreign government to go after a political opponent.
I think we may see to see the younger candidates come to the forefront as the likes of Biden, Sanders and Warren fade. A last-minute run by Hillary Clinton is out of the question due to her being a prominent figure in upcoming reports from Barr, Durham and Horowitz, and Michelle Obama is too close to her husband, also a major figure in that political mess.
Sad to be a Democrat these days.

If her career hadn’t been built on the backs of the Cherokee Warren might have become a factor, but that was an unrecoverable scandal.
She will be ridiculed and jeered at for that even decades after she dies. And rightly so. Your political career is over when that happens.
If another in-the-wings heavy-hitting Michael jumps in, one Michael could fight the other Michael for the 'Rat 'Nom. Word has it this second Michael checks of TONS of boxes that you'd need combinations of the other 20+ to achieve.

I don’t know how much actual sway BHO has now but his latest public statements indicate he doesn’t think Biden “has it”, he will “step in to stop” Bernie from getting the nomination and we know he wasn’t a HRC supporter. So who WOULD he support?
If the dems were smart they would give it to Bernie. Trump’s going to win anyway. Might as well appease the party crazies.
