.> At least as of a couple years ago two of President Tyler’s grandsons were still alive! Tyler had an interesting life. IIRC he was elected to the Confederate congress, but died before he could take his seat there.

I’m skeptical that any of Tyler’s grandsons are alive — they’d be around 150 years old by now, wouldn’t they?

Anyway, President Tyler is one of my direct ancestors, though I don’t recall offhand precisely how many levels of “grand-“. William Tyler Page, author of the American’s Creed, was descended from President Tyler, and I am Page’s great-grandson.

I am 67, and I am extremely proud and deeply honored to have such gentlemen in my family tree. My strong patriotism, and fierce love of America, are rooted in my genes.

Believe it. At age 62 he fathered a son named Lyon, one of the President’s 15 children. Two sons, Jr. and Harrison were born in 1924 and 1928 respectively. They were both alive as of 2017.

You come from hardy stock! President Tyler had more children than any other president and continued having them late into his life. One of his last born children did the same and had sons born in 1920s. I’d seen two were alive in 2018.. They’d be in early 90s now. Tyler’s last daughter lived into 1947.
