Democrats Ponder Impeachment Pivot

The Democrats have twisted themselves into a Schiffian Knot, a modern-day unsolvable puzzle.

When they plunged forward on their ill-fated impeachment voyage, they were destined to land on this surreal shore, even if their parade of bureaucratic interagency cheerleaders was even weaker than presumed.

So they are in the bad place that can't be washed away with a few margaritas. They desperately want to impeach President Donald Trump, but they don't want to send this partisan presumption pile over to the Senate, where they can no longer control the list of witnesses, where hearsay will be inadmissible, and where narrative control swings to the Republicans.

But if they don't impeach, their pitchfork-wielding base's fury will reach apocalyptic levels. Nancy Pelosi, like the apostle Peter near the end of his life, was led by others to where she did not want to go. She must be furious with her caustic clown caucus that maneuvered her into such an untenable position.

I knew that Democrats were in deep trouble when my teenage daughter asked me to explain the current impeachment effort at the dinner table. She ended the conversation with this: "This is so dumb."

The only thing that explains this is that the Rats must have really believed the phone call contained the BS Schiff read at the first hearing. Then Trump released the transcript and boom. Rather then backing off they started rounding up disgruntled deep staters and so now we have this circus.

The Democratic Party is being transformed into a radical leftist globalist entity not unlike Britain’s Labor Party complete with the anti Semitism. Nancy Pelosi sealed her own demise when she catered to the radicals and agreed to proceed with impeachment. While Trump, given the hate and political needs of the left, could be impeached in the House, it was always clear that he could never be convicted in the Senate and actually removed. What is more the radical leftists always knew that Trump’s aggressive defense in the Senate trial would expose the corruption of Kerry, Biden, Pelosi herself and other Democratic political figures who used their children in the Ukraine to enrich themselves. The Senate trial will not remove Trump but will destroy what is left of traditional “moderate” Democratic leadership. The “squad” and other globalist radicals will control the Democratic Party. Their plan is that eventually the right political conditions will exist in America and they will then be able to come to power and implement their vile agenda.

I think you are correct. If I remember the timeline correctly, Schiff was allover this making wild claims of gotcha. He probably convinced Pelosi that he finally had the goods on Trump and it would be a slam dunk victory. Then Trump released the transcripts and blew it up. They couldn’t expose themselves are frauds so they continued. When the inquisition started, Schiff expected at least something usable to fall out but nothing did other than exposing a bunch of entitled bureaucrats with huge egos that got their feeling hurt.

I picture Schiff as the guy that is so confident that he jumps from a plane without checking his parachute first. When he sees that it wasn’t a parachute but is actually a Hello Kitty backpack, he still thinks it’s a parachute.

I will argue that Speaker Pelosi has lost her power and teeters on the horns of a dilemma. What ever she does will ultimately result in fury at apocalyptic levels.

Pelosi cannot pivot. She is akin to a demented trucker who loaded her entire caucus into the back of her rig, then went speeding down an icy road at high speed toward a cliff. If she tried to turn away, she’ll roll over and crush her load. The fact is that if she tries to pivot away from impeachment and offers censure, her radical core will revolt in a very unpleasant way. She is doomed to suffer Trump’s counterattack in a Senate trial.

They freaked out that the gravy train in the laundered money backwash from Ukraine would become news of the day.

Worse, they freaked out equally if not more with President Trump raising the issue of where the mirrored copy of the DNC Server is since Crowdstrike would have a copy and it could reside on a cloud there where the owner hails.

You even have that NeverTrumper Chris Wallace trying to distort the reality of that question.

I think they are going to do it. They are too far down this road to say "Never mind". Even a 218 vote is a victory for us b/c it means they LOST support among Dems during the hearings. What a joke.

I talked to a few young people in their early 20’s yesterday about impeachment. The first thing I did was have them read the transcript of the phone call between president Trump and the president of Ukraine. They didn't see a problem with the phone call. Then I explained how the Ukrain got the money without investigating the corruption. The last thing I did was show them the video of crazy Joe Biden bragging about using blackmail to force the Ukrainian president to fire a prosecutor who was investigating a corrupt company Biden’s son worked with. After that they all knew this impeachment was nothing but a political hit job based on lies.
