a guy named Putin (oddly enough) who served on the Soviet submarine as its "political officer."

Which is pretty much what all the JAG Offs do that are inserted at every level of command of deployed units.

One thing the military tries to teach is tolerance. In this case, there may be a major failure in mission with these pansies.

You had eight years of Obama promoting and putting POS political hacks in charge of the military with political officers second guessing all effective combat officers.

“The real outrage was the absurd rules of engagement handed down by the Obama administration and the lackeys he put in place to enforce them.“

...yep. Those officers who dared voice opposition to Obunghole’s warped idea for ROE were quickly put out to pasture, and in their stead we have what’s left; The Perfumed Princes, Army Colonel Hackworth used to call them.

Fire all the Perfumed Princes until we reach bedrock.

The problem with this entire thing is that they tried to get him on one thing, discovered that "oops, it was our witness to whom we gave immunity who actually did it" and so then they decided to try nail him on something else.

This something else (taking pictures with a corpse) is kind of stupid but it was all they had on him. BUT he was not the only one in the picture, just the only one they decided to prosecute.

This makes for unequal prosecution and is against the rules. Either you go after everybody or you go after nobody.

This kind of thing happens when the legal community is pathologically unable to admit they made a mistake. They are SURE that everyone is guilty of something and by gum they are going to find it. Especially if they have falsely accused you.

While he boasts of supporting the military, he has come to distrust the generals and admirals who run it. Rather than accept information from his own government, he responds to television reports that grab his interest. Warned against crossing lines, he bulldozes past precedent and norms.

Good! It’s the status quo that needs disruption.

How many Generals did Lincoln have to fire before he found one that could fight? What do they not understand about Commander In Chief?

So Trump overrules a bunch of can’t-cunt, REMF Bench-jockeys in favor of warriors? Good.

The Prez needs to pound it home, the raw anti-American, anti-U.S. Military actions, the “Obama Staff Purge”, Obama social experimentation, and of the big spike in American Servicemember deaths due to the deadly PC Obqma “Rules of Engagement” !

Where were all those a$$hole talking heads when our soldiers were killed at Fort Hood? Why didn’t they come to the defense of our service men and women who were put in the line of fire when bogus ROE was put in place during 8 years of the idiot that posed as CIC? It just shows you that senior military hasn’t changed from Vietnam. “Where you stand depends upon where you sit”.

“Trump’s Intervention in SEALs Case Tests Pentagon’s Tolerance”

meaning what? that if the Pentagon reaches some “breaking point” that they’ll try to institute a military putsch against a duly elected President of the United States like they’re a gaggle of Greek or Egyptian colonels?

Trump needs to hire back that General who was fired over the Bengazi disaster that wanted to send out planes but was relieved on the spot? Also, if I were Trump the first thing I would do after winning re-election next November is demand everyone’s resignation in every dept, including the pentagon and cia, etc

The Swamp could be cleaned out and treasonous backstabbers dealt with, in about a week or so, but we don’t have it in us to do stuff like that anymore.

Yep and them “disenchanted military command” types are part of the reason that morale suffers...President Trump hurts the feelings of political animals who pose as military commanders and endears himself to the actual warriors these “commanders” consider disposable assets and opportunities to make examples of...

As a retired O-6 who did his “three to five at hard labor in the five sided wind tunnel,” I’m fairly certain that the President is at the top of EVERY chain of command.

Having said that, if the President has to reach down past certain members of the Chain of Command to obtain results, that means he has lost all trust in confidence in those individuals and they should be immediately fired and replaced.

The Civil Service is not a bulletproof as they think they are. It took less than 96 hours to bag my first member of the Senior Executive Service (SES). He resigned, and DID NOT retire.

When the rafter of turkeys from the union showed up to defend him, battlefield prep was so thorough, that the two senior union members realized they were eligible for retirement and dropped their letters that day. Those who were too junior to retire, left the Civil Service to pursue opportunities elsewhere. The two who remained were neutered and thoroughly housebroken.
