There is a scene in the 1993 film A Bronx Tale in which a biker gang is carousing in a bar only to be told to leave by the manager for being underdressed. When they protest, a wise guy, Sonny, played by Chaz Palminteri, tells them they can stay for one beer. Instead of drinking that beer the biker thugs shake the bottles up and spray the staff while hurling insults at them. Sonny comes back in and tells them, That wasnt very nice. Now youse gotta leave.
When the lead biker rudely dismisses him, Sonny walks to the door, closes and locks it before turning to the gang and proclaiming, Now youse cant leave. From the back of the bar pour hordes of wise guys who promptly deliver onto the biker gang an epic beating.
In the impeachment of Donald Trump, we have come to the Now youse cant leave moment.

Democrats have made their choice. Theyre now in a position that could turn out to be politically damaging on a historic level but they have made a commitment to the American people to play out this heavy process whatever the cost. They owe it to the American people to act on their convictions because they are public servants.
And anyway, now they cant leave
When the God believing and fearing founders of this nation came up with the Republican vs democratic form of governmental representation. It appears to me they considered that groups we call political partys once elected to a given political office. Could place their groups control and interest above the common good and benefit of the nation once elected to a legislative, executive or judicial office Rather than work together for the common interest.
They felt that upon election requiring taking the oath of office taken which swears loyalty to abide and support the constitution would avert any such direction and super cede any political postion taken by the group that the office holder associated with before entering .
That worked but since the democrats has tried to remove any reference to God in their 2012 convention. It no longer applies.
The more famous version of it is, you break it, you bought it.
Democrats cant drop impeachment without looking dumb and enraging their moonbat base in the process.
Theyre screwed.
Beautiful analogy...just perfect.
The Democrats went all in but are bluffing.
They know they don’t have a winning hand but they were expecting President Trump to fold. They do not understand that even if the President had nothing, he would not fold.
They cheated, they lied, they stacked the deck, and the President has ended up with a winning hand...he still has support of his base.
There is nothing the media or the Democrats can do to change that.
When the lead biker rudely dismisses him, Sonny walks to the door, closes and locks it before turning to the gang and proclaiming, Now youse cant leave. From the back of the bar pour 64 million Deplorable wise guys, who promptly deliver onto the biker dem gang an epic beating in 2020.
I bet those sweetheart deals are way more commonplace than we think, and I bet there are plenty of folks on both sides of the aisle that aren't happy about this getting out.
It's bipartisan corruption, and, in an impeachment trial, it will ALL come out.
Pelosi made a monumental error. The corruption of the “moderate” Democrats, herself, Biden, Kerry and others who enriched themselves through their children, will be exposed by Trump’s lawyers in the Senate “trial”. The “moderates” will be deposed and the “squad” and others will fully transform the Democratic Party into a socialist, globalist, leninist entity ready to impose its vile agenda on America when the political conditions allow it to seize power
The “Foreign aid” laundromat is about to be closed!
Pelosi is out of the country until the 13th. How do the Democrats plan to take an impeachment vote without her there to preside over it?
I think Schiff is going to get thrown under the bus by Nadler. All Nadler has to do is say that there was no evidence to point to an impeachable offense and that will be that.
The Republicans need to politically beat the Dems to a pulp. Normally, they’re hiding behind being, shall we say “polite” talk (no balls is more like it) .. “my good colleague on the other side of the aisle” crap, but it’s seriously TIME to put on the BRASS KNUCKLES & start swinging the Louisville Sluggers.
Pelosi lost control and allowed the Trump loathers to go ahead with impeachment hearings hoping they would simply discredit Trump before the election. Now its show time and the House must put up or shut upon impeachment. Neither option has traction with the voters and the far leftward tilt of all the Democrat presidential candidates spell disaster for the party in November.
Thanks, Travis!
I completely agree and have thought the same thing. This is Business as Usual for these folks. The vast majority of the time, people and families GET RICH from politics.
Great analogy - except this part:
....if the President had nothing, he would not fold.
President Trump could never have had nothing - he always held the ultimate trump cards of knowing he was innocent and knowing his accusers were guilty.
Remember, in a poker game, the players are dealt random cards. In real life, ones cards are his his virtue, his character, his moral choices, his good deeds - and yes, his cleverness.
President Trump ran for President with a purity of heart and has tried to be honest and selfless in his actions. In the dirty game of DC politics, this one fact guaranteed him a winning hand.
Im not saying he cant get hurt - or that he will win in every respect. I am saying the American people will deliver him a victory and a place in history that he deserves - just as they did that other pure-hearted President of modern times, President Ronald Reagan.
I feel something in the air - the resisters and the fake news have ventured out on their feeble limb to the point of absurdity.
Landslide anyone?
*** All Nadler has to do is say that there was no evidence to point to an impeachable offense and that will be that. ***
That would be the smart play however, the Nadler-Trump feud goes back 30-35 years and could get in the way.
