This is why Amazon created their delivery locker system due to this very issue. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see companies in New York City create large centers filled with delivery lockers specifically to cater to online buyers.
Every week we empty the cat litter into a nice UPS labeled box and leave it on the front porch. It helps. It's always taken within 24 hours.
“This is why Amazon created their delivery locker system “
I just discovered there’s an Amazon locker in a small drug store in a small town I visit twice a week. I think I’ll give it a try. Sounds like a good idea.
Why not a ‘lock box’ to put on the property? Years ago we had mailboxes near the street... now we could have ‘Amazon boxes’ by our driveways.
I have room by my front door too if Amazon wants to sell me a box with cute electronics to set off an alarm, take a picture and notify the police if someone tries to force it open.
My oldest son lives in Troy, New York, in a three flat brownstone on a busy street down from Russell Sage College. He’s lived there over 20 years. The front door of the building is always locked, and all there is, is the front stoop at the top of the stairs. He had a small package stolen several years ago, and decided he’d get himself a UPS mailbox, and has all his packages shipped there. Then when he gets an email/text that a package has arrived, he stops on the way home to pick it up. I don’t know how much it costs him per year, but the UPS office is a lot easier to get to than the actual post office would be. I live in the small city of Rome, NY. Our local post office is always busy, with lines almost out the door. They only have 3 counters, and most times one is usually closed down. It always seems like it’s Christmas year round with the long lines. I’ve learned to go there between 2-3 p.m. when the lines tend to be shorter. And thankfully, I only have to go there once a week to mail packages.
