Personal weapons of any kind are forbidden on Navy bases (except for skeet ranges/gun clubs if the base has them). Security personnel carry but no one else. Navy bases are essentially gun free zones.

This s from the Pensacola News Journal which describes the affair as a ‘gun fight’:

At least two people were killed and another 11 injured at Naval Air Station Pensacola Friday before the suspected gunman was fatally shot in a gunfire exchange with law enforcement.

The Florida base was put on lockdown shortly after officers received reports of an active shooter just before 7 a.m., Jason Bortz, a spokesman for the base, told the Pensacola News Journal. Both Navy officials and local authorities converged on the scene, where they engaged the suspect in a gun battle, police said.

Actually there has been quite a bit of investigation into these individuals through court ordered records subpoenas from victim’s cases and there is indeed a factual common denominator that has been exposed. But it is covered up, not mentioned, or completely ignored.

Rules/Regs. Just because it is a military base doesn’t mean
a lot of personnel are carrying loaded weapons.

During peacetime, military personnel are not issued weapons and ammunition, unless it's a mission requirement, i.e. military police. People with base access are not permitted to carry firearms around, only to transport them, i.e. base housing or base armory for storage, or gun range for practice. Firearms cannot be stored in personal vehicles. These restrictions are in place as a safety precaution for the general base populace.

During my Air Force career, I was never allowed to operate aircraft, although most civilians I met assume I did, because I was in the U.S. Air Force. I wasn't trained, it wasn't my job.

I flew a desk. I provided valuable information about aircraft to those whose job it was to operate them, maintain them, and manage the fleet.

Not recently as I retired 20 years ago.

It really is a bad mistake to mess with an East Tennessee person.

My privilege, hopefully you will also see the truth of it and can maybe help expose the reality now and then. And we have not even gone into the suicide tendencies caused by these meds, especially teen suicides, and this primarily affects males. The suicide tendency comes first, then because they have no self control or absolutely no concern for human life of themselves or others, they are driven to take others out along with themselves for some reason.
