There is an active shooter situation at naval base NAS Pensacola in Florida, police say.
ATF is responding to the scene.

Why the ATF? Are there no SP or local police that can handle this quickly? The ATF takes hours.

No. The common denominator is gun free zones.
We can never be rid of mental cases. Too many of those are so hard to detect that discovering all of them is not possible.
However it is a proven fact that gun free Zones are a magnet for mass murderers.
It is also obvious that we can easily eliminate ALL gun free zones except prisons.
But we will not eliminate gun free zones, a misnomer if there ever was one because they exist only for the law abiding citizen and are ignored by the criminals, because we are ruled by fools who think the solution to all problems is passing one more law that must be more onerous than the present law.

Radio just reported two dead in addition to the shooter, 8 patient to hospital................
I agree that gun free zones are a huge part of it. But have you had any personal experience with these meds when they go bad? I have... And I can absolutely guarantee they are causing these folks to flip out and do these things. I have had three direct personal in my face experiences with the deadly lack of concern for human life these drugs can actually cause.
There is no defending them to me in any form or fashion, ever... Been there first hand.

I don’t disagree with you on that subject.
I am pointing out that there are many causes of mental instability and most of them are not displayed the afflicted as though they are wearing a sandwich board.
Gun free zones offer zero protection from them.
Big Pharma’s pockets are wide and deep....
And my point is that they absolutely refuse to even mention that these side effects in “some” patients can cause these deadly mental situations. Or even that it has indeed been a factor in all these mass shootings. It needs to be exposed and addressed so that helpful meds which “do not have” these deadly side effects can be developed rather than “well, it’s as good as we can do and they help most folks, so one now and then are acceptable losses for the better of the whole”. And PROFITS of course...
It’s like a huge pothole in the street they refuse to fix, While it is not physically harming drivers of “cars”, how many “motorcyclists” does that pothole need to kill before the count becomes enough to maybe look at fixing it? What we have is that pothole wrecking the few occasional minority of motorcyclists, but when they wreck they are taking out a bunch of “innocent pedestrians” with them resulting many residual casualties not just the rider of the motorcycle.
This pothole is now also causing a huge residual collateral damage count at that point. Yet we still do not address or acknowledge that the refusal to fix the pothole is the initial problem in the chain of cause and effect.
Local radio just reported that the incident took place in a building connected to ‘flight training’, which could be a hanger or a classroom.
The person may have been about to be a ‘washout’ and snapped.
Or it could have been a personal affair between the two dead and the shooter, like a love triangle.
Or possibly a Sudden Jihad Syndrome if it was a mooslim................

ATF needs to bring their long table for photo shoot.
That’s how they justify their existence.
