Judicial Watch: Court Rejects FBI Effort to Keep Secret Records about FBI-Clinton Lawyer Meeting on Russia
Judicial Watch ^ | 11-6-2019 | Judicial Watch

(Washington, DC) – Judicial Watch announced today that U.S. District Judge James E. Boasberg denied a Justice Department effort to block the release of any communications between former FBI General Counsel James Baker and Michael Sussmann, a Perkins Coie law partner and former DOJ attorney, who reported met with Baker to share information targeting Donald J. Trump during the presidential campaign.

While at Perkins Coie, Sussmann represented the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and Hillary Clinton’s campaign during the time Perkins Coie secretly paid for the development of the anti-Trump dossier the DOJ used to obtain FISA warrants to spy on the Trump campaign. The court specifically rejected the FBI’s argument that it needed to protect the “privacy” of Hillary Clinton’s lawyer.

Unfortunately, JW is doing Barr’s job too.

Well, at least the part of the job about uncovering information. JW can't punish people for committing crimes, and Barr seems hell-bent on doing his best sleepy-Sessions impression.

Why, oh why is Barr’s DOJ and FBI still fighting JW?

What on earth does Barr do everyday? He’s less visible than even Sessions was. He’s a complete zero.

Barr will attack when the facts are gathered and the case is solid.

I had no faith in Sessions. He is a nice guy but a complete wuss.

Don’t poke the Barr.

Why, oh why is Barr’s DOJ and FBI still fighting JW?

Primary reason is that Barr isn't in full control of his underlings. Barr may issue directions, but the bureaucrats under him are allowed to do as they please. They view him as an impotent figurehead, must as they did Sessions.

“Don’t poke the Barr.”

If you do, it will sound like bagpipes.

Somehow they were able to raid Donald Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, without regard to protecting attorney client communications. I understand the protection does not extend to when the attorney and client are in a criminal conspiracy together. But they used Cohen’s personal financial mistakes as a pretext to raid everything on Trump - and found nothing on Trump. They are still trying to find out how the payment to Stormy Daniels was handled, hoping Trump made a mistake by improperly declaring it on his tax returns.

There are serious questions about using campaign money laundered through Perkins Coie to hire a 3rd parties and foreign agents to buy foreign sourced dirt on a candidate. Sure they tried to create the appearance of legality - hiring Fusion GPS to be the middle man - but Perkins Coie should be raided the same as Cohen was. They, as the attorneys for the campaign, should have been well aware about how, why and when campaign money can be used. Everything about this Russian Hoax was done to give the appearance of arms length, using cutouts and paper trials as possible scapegoat loopholes but you’d have to be a fool to think the people who paid and stood to benefit the most had no idea what was really going on.

except to set a precedent to deny attorney client privilege to President Trump.

You don't recall that they raided the Presidents lawyer and confiscated all his files, so much for attorney client privilege.

It appears that Wray and Barr are corrupt just like Mueller and Sessions.

JW doing the job of the Justice department.

Why doesn’t trump save a tone of money and just outsource it to them.

If Judicial Watch could be deputized to indict these people, we might actually drain some of the swamp.
Leaving it to the corrupt DOJ to police itself is an exercise in futility.
