If you were born in the 50s and lived for over 60 years, you have SOME immunity to most variants of the flu.
But if a new one comes along, you could be in trouble.
Vaccine? Rarely hits the variant.

My daughter (33) just got hit really hard by this one; high fever (103+), sore throat, bad cough & tummy issues (made worse by the Z-pack antibiotic). She has an inhaler for asthma and that is about the only thing that helps, also Vicks! The grand-kids & son-in-law also have symptoms, but not quite as bad. DH is the only one in the family who had a flu shot and he’s okay. I got the coughing, sore throat & feeling off, but no fever so far. Weird.

I got that first Asian flu. I was sick in bed for TWO WEEKS+.
Surviving that my immune system hasn't let me down ever again. I haven't had the flu or a cold in DECADES.
I do get allergies in the spring time, especially if I leave windows open.

We are a CDC reporting site, our flu patients have extra swabs processed to determine the exact strain.
We did see a flurry of positive flus in October but the more sensitive tests came back positive for rhino virus.
