Deepening Divide Turns Impeachment Into Another Partisan Brawl
NYT ^ | Dec 8, 2019 | Michael D. Shear, Nicholas Fandos and Maggie Haberman

WASHINGTON — Almost from the moment that Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her lieutenants decided this fall to pursue the impeachment of President Trump, they made a fateful judgment: If the president intended to do nothing but stonewall and subvert their inquiry, they were not going to be the ones politely sticking to lofty traditions.

Mr. Trump’s lawyers have made a similarly cold calculation. After a year of defying without consequence Congress’s attempts to investigate the president’s conduct, they have no intention of taking part in what they view as an illegitimate impeachment, initially conducted without a formal House vote in a break with recent precedent.

The clash comes to a head on Monday with a hearing in the Judiciary Committee where Democratic lawyers plan to present the case for impeaching Mr. Trump while the White House sits out the process. That will set in motion a rapid-fire set of actions likely to produce official charges against the president by week’s end and a nearly party-line vote in the full House before Christmas to impeach him.

Another slime peace that take multiple authors. From the article:

“Each side will try to find something on the other, and it will never end. It’s like a ‘War of the Roses’ that goes on forever.”

They may have gotten something right.

George Soros and his backers (countries hostile to The United States) must be absolutely amazed at how cheap they can buy the whores at the New York Times.

Not accepting the outcome of the last election is precisely the “threat to our Democracy” that The Cankled One once warned about.

But, I don’t believe this is what she had in mind when she screeched it

I’m still waiting to hear from the Democrats what President Trump has done that he should be impeached for it.

Writing an essay about impeachment is not proof.

It’s just an essay about impeachment.

She might have the votes but it will cost her the House.

Such a typical BS from the NYT scumbags. As if the rats effort is a legitimate presentation of Presidential crimes and misdemeanors when it’s nothing but a slander job by a bunch political hacks.

official charges against the president by week’s end and a nearly party-line vote in the full House before Christmas to impeach him....

I expect they have the votes to do it. Then on to the senate where I’m hoping that each article of impeachment is thoroughly explored and refuted. It’s the only way to make the rats look like the soviets they are.

Lindsay’s idea to get 51 votes on day 1 to acquit would just open the senate to charges of partisanship by the house.

The “Deepening Divide” that I see in this nation is between the criminal Democrat Party leaders with their media shills versus those who want to see those criminal Democrats and shills rightlfully punished.

It’s as simple as evil Democrat leaders and shills versus good.

Re: “Deepening Divide”

It is all Dems/Leftists own doing.

I was sure Donald Trump, like any reasonable business man, would prefer making deals and get things done.

But, NOOOOOOO... Hillary Wing threw hissy fits the moment they realize they won’t get their queen.

And their actions ever since only hardened The Deplorables and possibly won over not too small amount of independents.

“I was sure Donald Trump, like any reasonable business man, would prefer making deals and get things done.”

Very true, such as he tried to work with Cummings on prescription drug prices however Dems decided they could not afford to work with Trump for any common good as they might show Trump winning.

In trying to be as objective, certain points seem apparent.

Trump will not be convicted in the Senate.

So why is the House tied up and not working to pass legislation that we all need?

It can only be party hatred and election politics by the Dems. Not a good look.

Frankly, no thinking person would fire an American President for anything that went on in the Ukraine.

Americans are voting already, with their money.

If any independent and Republican voters really were worried that Trump would get fired, they would not be giving such enormous amounts of money to re-elect him.

It looks as if Trump may raise upwards of 1.5 BILLION dollars.

Think about that. If all 4 million Uber drivers were given $25 x 8 fares on election day to give free rides to the polling stations, that would be only half of Trump’s campaign money.

That would be half of everyone that already voted for Trump.

Let the Dems try to match that turnout.

This cheap shot at Trump could likely cripple the Dems for a generation. Hmmmm, well then, what’s our downside either way?

This exactly why the Dems always accuse you of what they are guilty of. They have a familiarity with the crime and know to the public it will appear as partisan bickering..
