Who is Bill Weld and why should we care? He has left the active political arena, some several years now, and has failed to keep up with what is a very fast-changing scene.

What have been presented as “articles of impeachment” are in fact nothing except opinions, and have no basis in fact. These screeds were thrown up hastily as a sort of smoke screen, trying to prevent anybody even from looking in the direction of what the Democrats have been scrambling to cover up since it was painfully certain that Trump has in fact been elected as the legitimate President of the US, with rules established in the US Constitution and pretty much unchallenged for the previous 220 years. Only after a really lopsided campaign in 2016, in which the “popular vote”, owing entirely to two very populous states, was displaced by the established manner of counting votes, and assigning weight to each state, was this ever seriously questioned.

No one has ever successfully challenged the electoral college system of selecting the President and Vice President. Short of a complete collapse of our existing government, this shall not happen.

But don’t count out the possibility.

Having watched “obstruction” cases since Scooter Libby and Martha Stewart, I’ve come to the conclusion that it consists of saying something the prosecutor didn’t like, and somebody else says something different.

Or else about irrelevant discrepancies in your memory.
