Unless this was a prominent campaign promise by this guy, then no, the people did not vote for this. This has been sneaked up on them by misleading them.
They had a choice to make and they made it. I hope they enjoy it.
Much of voting is apathy. Many people won't bother voting unless they see a dire need to do so. To assert this is a "choice" is itself misleading.
No, it wasn't a "choice", it was a "default" from not bothering to make a choice.
When one votes to elect Democrats, one votes for what Democrats do. And there is no one that has the sense to get out of the rain that does not know what Democrats do when they are in power. You can alibi for them until the cows come home, and they can cry their eyes out, but the fact remains....
