Turn-out blow for Tories: Millions queue to take part in Britain's most crucial election in a generation – amid fears a 'youthquake' could spell disaster for Boris Johnson

Boris Johnson's hope of getting Brexit done was hanging in the balance tonight as voters turned out in their millions to take part in the most important election of a generation.

Constituencies across the country reported the longest queues seen at polling stations for years today, sparking fears of a Remainer 'youthquake' that could derail attempts to leave the EU.

Thousands snaked around the block outside schools, village halls, churches, pubs and other community buildings in the wet and cold to exercise their democratic right at the UK's 50,000 polling stations from 7am.

But if turnout is confirmed as being high after the polls close at 10pm it could spell danger for Boris Johnson amid a tightening of his lead in the polls.

It is traditionally a sign that Labour has managed to mobilise its younger and working class voters, who have in the past been less likely to make the journey to the ballot box.

The Brexit vote was the biggest turnout election in absolute terms in British history so there is some hope. But if wrong congrats to Millenials for electing an avowed Marxist, and Anti-Semite as PM.

Johnson will still win.. but without a complete majority, they are right back where they are now... more limbo.

Be interesting to see if Muzzies play a big role in getting anti-Semites in power in the UK.

They’re assuming that the unusually motivated voters are going to be Labour voters. Everyone knows how important this election is, including those who lean Tory and are pro Brexit.

Exactly, anyone claiming anything out of turnout being high, is likely making an ass out of themselves.

4 more hours or so and the polls close, and then numbers will start to trickle in...

More people voted for BREXIT than any other election in their nations history, I would fully expect this election to be at or above those numbers, as the public 3 years later is probably sick of this CRAP and wants it over....

I guess I’m versed in UK politics enough to understand. I thought Boris was just elected a short time ago?

Boris formed a new Tory led government with the current Parliament after Teresa May was forced out.

“... electing an avowed Marxist, and Anti-Semite as PM...”

A lot of Millennial SJWs see absolutely *NO* problem with that.

The Trump election was one of the highest turnout elections! High turnout doesn’t mean the Tories are going to lose, it could mean that many marginal voters are terrified of a Labour Govt.

What are the Brit oddsmakers saying?

I would trust a betting shop before a poll.

I think it looks bad for Britain. It will only get worse when Charles becomes king.
