MADRID (AP) - United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres warned Thursday that failure to tackle climate change could result in economic disaster that would allow only the “survival of the richest.”
Guterres urged officials from almost 200 countries at the annual U.N. climate meeting in Madrid to embrace the economic opportunities that come with cutting greenhouse gases rather than focus on the risks to existing industries dependent on fossil fuels.
“For too long, vested interests have peddled the false story that economic growth and tackling climate change are incompatible,” the U.N. chief said. “This is nonsense.”
“In fact, failing to tackle global heating is a sure-fire recipe for economic disaster,” Guterres added.
He cited a study showing that shifting to a low-carbon economy could create 65 million new jobs worldwide by 2030 and boost growth by $26 trillion dollars.
His remarks came as negotiations in Madrid neared the official end, with disagreements over key issues still unresolved.

Well we had better quickly inform God that His plans for this old earth are shattered now- guess there isn’t going to be a 7 year tribulation and then a 1000 year reign of Christ like the bible says because climate alarmists say that we’re doomed!
til they get everything they wasn’t- they are already crippling our economy by issuing new law and regulations to include climate credits, climate fines, taxes, regulations etc that drive the price of everything sky high-

The first time I read about a coming climate catastrophe, it was supposed to be an ice age. Was in 1968. The Ice Age was supposed to be 20 or 30 years off. Where was 50 years ago LOL !

seems to me that the solution would be to pre-kill the rich BEFORE the so-called “climate change disaster” occurs to assure that they don’t survive then ...
