Not unlike Colorado, where the split is between the Front Range cities and resort communities and the farming, ranching, mining and energy dependent areas. About six years ago, Governor Hickenlooper and a Democrat dominated legislature passed gun control bills that were very unpopular outside the liberal enclaves. The reaction caused the state senate to flip to the GOP. However, the Democrats remained militant while the Republicans didn't, and the Democrats flipped three seats back and hold all statewide offices.
The patriots of Virginia had best learn the lesson of Colorado. If the Virginia legislature backs down or the law becomes a dead letter outside of Northern Virginia, the Hampton Roads area, and metro Richmond, remember the Communist tactic of two steps forward, one step back.
