NRA vs. City of Los Angeles decision re ordinance to disclose contacts with NRA
Reason ^ | 12/13/2019 | John Ross

Los Angeles officials enact ordinance requiring all prospective city contractors to disclose contracts with or sponsorship of the National Rifle Association. A violation of the NRA's and a would-be contractor's speech and association rights? District court: Indeed so. The text, legislative history, and comments the ordinance's sponsor made on Twitter "evince a strong intent to suppress the speech of the NRA," and its clear purpose "is to undermine the NRA's explicitly political speech." That's a First Amendment no-no. https://ij.org/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/gov.uscourts.cacd_.744044.34.0.pdf

This is just a short comment from Reason mentioning a district court decision regarding the city requiring city contractors to disclose contacts with the NRA. I included a link to the decision itself.

Meanwhile, illegal alien gang members are running around L.A. with automatic weapons. And according to some accounts the L.A. sheriffs department is composed of gang members.

Do they say “NRA,” or “National Rifle Association?”

NRA could be ‘anything.’

Like NWA is similar, or Non Resident Alien (EEK).

NRA might mean “No Republicans Allowed.”

Sorry, folks. You will not be able to list all your contacts with the NRA. The list will be too long.

How Nazi of them. Today the NRA, tomorrow the RNC and just wait until they decide which Religion they don’t approve of.

Que more taxpaying business owners and professionals (and ordinary law abiding peeps) moving from LA to another state.

This Cali native and productive person and tax payer has lived in "another state" for 5 years, and other than some friends and fam, I do not miss California.

At all.

And, I constantly meet Cali ex-pats who are thrilled and relieved to be in a "red" state.

And, in 5 years, I've met only one (1) person who was moving TO Cali, and that was to take care of an elderly MIL.

The middle class has abandoned Cali (or we have been driven out).
