Yeah, but that is not the deep state. The deep state is very real. It consists of folks from both parties, in and out of government. It encompasses a lot of folks at foundations and NGOs around DC who are in line for a job in government if things go the right way.
The public face of the deepstate was the NSC staff, and Deputy Assistant Secretaries from State and Defense and former ambassadors and such who testified that Trump just ignored them. The deep state includes all the people who whine because Trump didn't call them first. It includes all the climate change scientists who were kicked off of EPA advisory boards. It is broad and it is deep and it sucks off and consume voracious quantities of time and resources while providing nothing of value.
Sure — but it’s a complicated mess and no one is explaining it to the people. The only people that get it are the core of the conservative base. Good luck with that.
Trump runs part of the the deep state. It’s his deep state now.
