Yep. If they suddenly announce a delay on the vote scheduled I figure it would mean they are having trouble “whipping” the votes.

I just looked in on a political forum where I am a member this morning, the membership is about fifty/fifty, and discussion is generally pretty hot————there has not been a thread started by a Democrat in days, there are no posts from a Democrat since yesterday——they are all in hiding, and the count of Dem Congresscritters that are swearing to vote against impeachment is growing like crazy; (seems these guys are hearing from their constituents this weekend!) I predict a massacre in November.

He wouldn’t do it but if McConnell announced that after further consideration, he decided to hold a trial with all the witnesses the WH wants, I’m almost willing to bet Pelosi would allow enough Nay votes to defeat both Articles.
Dems do not want several of those witnesses to testify publicly.
