So what would his recommendation be as to appropriate punishment? He wasn’t wrong; he was criminal.

Having grown up in a subtly but strongly dysfunctional family, this guy is the definition of gaslighting: Confronted with facts and challenges even a 3 year old could understand, and faking confusion, 'dummying up', fake apologizing for not seeing it that way. When he has no choice but to admit he was wrong, he repeats the charge, says 'I was wrong' but with zero remorse, and calls that accountability.

Imagine a guy saying 'ok yes, you're right, I did in fact murder that guy, I didn't see it that way at the time, so I'm being accountable' but the underlying gaslight is 'why are you bothering me about this? What's wrong with you? So what? there's something wrong with YOU for even asking and pressing'

This crap goes right to my stomach because I grew up with it. This guy is an absolutely disgusting human being. MOST people I will say hurt others out of ignorance. This guy is absolutely to the core one of the most disgusting human beings I have ever watched. A liar to the core, and one who feels completely justified because no one realizes that he's doing it for a higher reason.

That's pretty much the personality disorder of every dictator who was at the root of the murder of 10s of millions not to mention ruining the lives (without killing them) of hundreds of millions more.

Thank God this loser didn't get more power than he got.

He's not even particularly intelligent, which makes his arrogance all the more striking. I look at him and say 'loser', he looks at himself with the absolute highest of regard. It's almost on the level of the mag writers talking about how 'Radiant' Hillary looks with her new blow up testicle cheeks. The difference is, they are telling that lie about someone else and don't believe it. Comey praises himself and believes all of it.

Other than those things I think he is syooper kewel and so awesome :-)

Yep. I remember getting in trouble as a kid wondering, “Hey, maybe if I admit to one little thing maybe my dad will forget about the other stuff”. Never worked.

Comey thinks we’re dumb and hold him in high esteem when it’s just the opposite. We think he’s the dumb one for trying to pull a fast one on us and now we doubt everything he says and look for ulterior motives.

This sanctimonious scumbag being marched into prison would make me immensely happy. The only things that would make me happier are (1) Trump winning in 2020 and (2) John Brennan being sent to a gulag in North Korea as part of a de-nuclearization agreement.

It must seriously suck to be Jame Comey.

If anyone knows the ways the Clinton machine stays in business, it would be Comey.

Remember all of the pictures the ex-FBI Director posted of himself standing all alone in various settings?

What was the message he was sending with those photos and who was he sending it to?

I wonder if he is still being quiet?

Deny, deny, deny. Even when IG Horowitz said, after the initiation of Crossfire Hurricane, there was either gross incompetence or bias to continue the investigation. It was the cream of the crop at the FBI running it - so it only points to deliberate deceit, bias and malfeasance to maintain the wiretaps on innocent people.

None of this is done.

Now that we know the FBI committed crimes and lied, we also need to know when, what and to whom did the corrupt FBI leak. To partially clear this criminal debacle, we need to know how our government lies about American citizens in order to frame and impeach presidents. We need to know how that was done. I am sorry they IG did not have that in his scope but I believe it to be vital for our democracy to sustain this criminal blow.

Barr is the “real deal”....by law, Barr can only do so much...wait for John Durham’s report.

It will not be a report, it will be announcements of indictments.

Durham will not issue a 450 page review of "bad acts" he will indict for crimes against specific statues, which will have prescribed prison terms if/when convicted.

When the first one or two are announced and come with an accepted "plea deal" then you know that the suicide pills will be considered by many of the demonRATs.

so, Comey is either a total moron who was completely clueless about the organization he was supposedly to be running, or he is sociopathic liar ... personally, i tend to lend towards the sociopathic liar theory ...

Roll that liar out of bed before dawn with a phalanx of armed agents, and march him outside without shoes, as was done to senior citizens Roger Stone and his deaf wife.

If Wallace wasn’t on his knees during the interview, I guess that’s significant and probably surprised the heck out of Comey.

He gets off without penalty if he just says: "I only did what the President ordered me to do!"

Let's see if he dares...

Funny how that works out sometimes.

I thought it totally purposeful and, in any event, likely to be heavily used in the future...

Just remember that Comedy was of late conducting an “academic” course about Ethics.

LOL.

the underlying gaslight is 'why are you bothering me?

Nice post - it's always a pleasure to read an insightful analysis. If I may add a point, I think the characteristics that distinguish a real professional liar (say, of the Clinton class) is the ability to use the following technique in every situation:

1. Go on offense - deny that the underlying facts exist and/are true. A common tactic is to accuse the other of engaging in conspiracy theories.

2. After the perpetrator accuses the questioner of engaging in a conspiracy theory, quickly pivot to then claiming the accusation is simply a artificial, manufactured attempt to falsely accuse the innocent victim.

3. Finally, after establishing those two layers, go for the coup de grace, which is to accuse the questioner of 'abuse of power', collusion, interference, etc of whatever partisan differences the perpetrator may be involved with.

These 3-part technique works on a couple of different levels. For the innocent, inexperience types from fly-over country, they're shocked that such monsters even exist. They're so rattled they typically don't know how to respond. For those who have been long exposed and/are experienced practitioners of the dark arts, the first reaction is normally a sort of grin, very much like Patton's "I read your book!" However, once the smirk is gone, you have to still know how to parry, counter and defeat each of the three stages of the criminal's story line.

Durham won’t issue a report.

He will issue indictments.

Not of significance. Plenty of low hanging fruit. DOJ isn’t touching it. Compare that to the speed at which Mueller and his angry Democrats worked to imprison supporters of POTUS.
